I have a few games that use balls, basketballs, racquetballs, and other round balls. As you would expect people keep walking off with them and I have to replace them all too often. I was thinking of some type of RFID think I could place in the balls and then when the ball got too far away or passed a certain point an alarm of some type would go off. I am still in the research stage and could use some feedback or help with this. I don't know enough about this subject to make it work at the moment. Anyone think this will work? Any tips on what to use?
Thanks very much,
Russ

If you have limited entry/exit, you should be able to put up the standard shoplifting pillars and toss in the cheap tags like CDs and stuff have. That may be a challenge in some things though, as it's probably difficult to stick anything inside a racquetball without ruining the ball. Plus, the initial investment of installing one of those systems may never pay for itself in stolen balls.

Maybe a fake device, plus signs saying "Alarm will sound if balls leave premises" or something would be sufficient. Heheheh... those signs would probably get stolen. ;)

If the games are in a location that is manned (employees on premises), then just require them to give you something before you give the balls out...
