I stuck Tempest on CL about a month ago along with other games... I set the price at $750 which is pretty high for this area... I figured that if someone was willing to pay that, I'd sell it. Well, I got an email today asking if I still had it and if I had pix. I sent them... he wants it... I don't know if I want to sell now... >argh<

Tell him you changed your mind. You may regret selling it later if it's working well with a good monitor I wouldn't sell it.

I did that over 10 years ago. Sold a Tempest for more than I thought it was worth. It took over 10 years to get another one. Just sayin.

$750 is a good price for the cab... I'll make a couple hundy in profit that could go back in to the game room... and the game doesn't get played enough... BUT... it's Tempest...

I'm so tore.

:(

I know what your feeling, and that's why I wouldn't ever let my Tempest go. I know I would regret it later even if I did get a chunk of change for it.

I guess it remains what did you pay for it and what kind of repair work or restoration did you put into it? $250 is good profit if you did nothing to your game since you owned it. However, your time is certainly worth the $250 if you put many hours into it. You might want to repost it for sale at $1000 and if Joe Consumer wants to pay that then you can re-evaluate this crossroad again.

Buy a broken game that you don't care about for $50. Fix it without actually restoring it. Sell it for $300. Make your profit on that and keep the Tempest.

I just got my Tempest working, replaced the large edge connector, all monitor rebuild mods done, and replaced the marquee and marquee light. All I need to replace is the CPO and this game will be very nice. All told, It's already cost me $460 so far. It's just ironic that I just found mine after a 5 year search and am so excited to finally have it, and you are thinking about offing yours because 'nobody plays it'. Pretty easy to remedy that situation. Turn the bitch on and coin it up.

The graphics are great, but gameplay is only MEH and replay value sucks. Sell it!

Sav, I mean this in a very respectful way, but what the Fuck is wrong with you? You seem to slam every sweet classic game you can, but then run around praising titles like 'Pengo'. You're fucked up.

Stop with the Phet encounters and you should heal up quite nicely.

Seriously Frizz - I 100% understand your thought process. It's flawed. My thought process is also flawed. If you sell a game because no one plays it - you're going to end up selling everything because people will grow tired/bored of the machine.

Bottom line - is this game room for you or for everyone else? Honestly it should be about you - not everyone else. If you like it keep it. If you hurting for cash that's another reason to sell. Otherwise I vote to hold onto it.

I vote for not getting rid of a game unless (a) you need the money badly, (b) you don't like the game, (c) you are offered ridiculous money for it, (d) you need the space for another game you want more, or (e) you have (or will have) another of the same game. If you answer "true" to any of those, do it.

Ahahahahaha! :D But that is because Pengo > Tempest... *runs and hides*

Make sure you check your hiding place thoroughly before committing to it. Fritz has a tendency to get there first, and you wouldn't accidentally want to back into him in the dark. ***shudders violently***
