Just wanted to post a quick thanks to Joe at High Score Saves for the update to the Bagman/Super Bagman Multi/HSS ( https://www.highscoresaves.com/bagman-super-bagman-multigame-high-score-save-kit.html ). I've been bugging him for about a year asking for a way to switch games without having to go into the setup menu... out of the blue today I got a call from him telling me to try the update that he emailed me.

Anyway, it works great. I don't have to worry about people messing with the kit settings anymore when changing games... just press and hold the start button and it goes to a menu to select which game you want to play. So, anyone with the Bagman kit should definitely get their chip updated.

So yes, Joe... you're awesome. And I do suck at both Bagman and Super Bagman (pics attached of my best scores so far... finally starting to figure out what to do on Super Bagman). And I'm sure I'm forgetting something. :p

Will this update be downloadable on his HSS site anytime soon?
Personally, I'd send him a message... I dunno if he normally posts updates on his site, or just sends them directly to his customers. But I can tell you it's definitely worth updating!

Does your HSS kit fit OK in your Bagman cab? It looks a bit from the pictures that the kits board that fits into the Z80 socket won't fit because of the metal shielding around the PCB?

That's correct... I had to cut a chunk out of the shielding for it to fit. I sent Joe a picture of the mod... not sure if he added a note or pics to the installation instructions.

It's a great kit though... both games are really good (and ridiculously hard), though after playing Super Bagman for a while, I think I prefer it over Bagman (lots more going on, like the gun, bombs, jumping, etc).

Ahh OK thanks. I'm keen to get this one - mainly so I can play Super Bagman! I've got the HSS Pac-Man kit and am very happy with it.

Strange though, I did email and ask but was just told "not had an issue yet".
Shame it doesn't come on a ribbon cable like the Pacman kit or that the board doesn't fit the other way around like the vector labs version. I'm considering making up my own adaptor somehow.

Yeah, I thought about making a simple board to basically move the socket over about an inch, but couldn't wait to install it... and the rest of the cab is sorta beat up anyway, so it didn't hurt my feelings to cut into the shield.

OK i'm going to order it, while I wait I have an idea about relocating it ... i'll post back if it works!

I fixed the issue with the help of some Raspberry Pi GPIO breakout boards, a socket and a modified ribbon cable.

Unfortunately there appears to be a bug in the Super Bagman high score table where you can't enter any initials, but Joe is looking at it.
