Just got my Bagman up and running and I am having a problem with the picture. I can see the graphics but it seems to be out of syn, I have tried to adjust the monitor with no luck, when I adjust the +5v on the power board it helps but I can't adjust it anymore.

I don't know the make of the monitor, I will take a look tomorrow and let you know. I will also take a picture of the problem. The cabinet is an original Bagman cabinet and it looks like the original monitor.

Here are some pictures of the problem I am having, the chassis is a Sampo chassis model cga 19a and it looks like the original for the cabinet. I am wondering if it is a power problem, the reason is when I measure the voltage to the board it is only at +4.5 to 4.7 v .

First off, the monitor is NOT original. Stern did NOT use Sanyo's in a bagman.

You have more than one problem. The monitor is NOT synced up and you will need to adjust the H. Hold which is in the center of the monitor chassis. You will also need to adjust your +5vdc to just that, +5vdc on your power supply.

So you are saying that the Sampo chassis is made by Sanyo? Also I have tried to adjust the +5v on the pwer supply and it won't go any higher in voltage.

I thought I read Sanyo. Sampo is different. Can't tell you how to sync one of those guys.

The power supply, will need to be rebuilt if it does not adjust. Bob Roberts sells a kit for it. You can also put in a switcher too.

I can adjust the power supply but I am not getting +5v to the pcb, is the voltage regulator need replacing or should I be looking at something else? Does anyone know if bagman is a negative sync or positive sync.

What do you get at the power supply? and the range?

I can't check right now because I am not home but I believe it was about 4.75 to 5.3 v at the power supply but I will check it agian when I get home. I know it is not the pcb itself because I tested it before I put it in to the cabinet and it works fine.

I measured the power at the power supply and the most I can get out of it is 5.26v, I am starting to lean more towards that there is not enough power getting to the pcb than it being a sync problem. It is set up for negative syn so I tried to hook it up as positive sync and it was even worse. Am I right in thinking that the 4.89v at the board is not enough power for it and that could be causing the distortion and garbage on the screen?

Tried to adjust the monitor with no luck . It has happened a few times now where the bagman intro screen comes up and looks good for a few seconds but then starts to act up, the colors go bright and then a bit dim and also when in demo mode the screen will shrink in size then go back to normal. Does this sound like a power issue?, like a power surge. I just bought a complete bagman set up on ebay with another stern ps1200 power supply so when that arrives I will try that to see if that makes it work, if not I will throw in a switching power supply and see if that works

Not the monitor, I hooked it up to my G07 and it did the same thing. One odd thing is when it shows the bagman introduction screen it looks fine and the reason I am thinking that is there is not as much of a power demand because there is no moving characters on the screen. But when it goes to demo mode the problem kicks in again, does this sound like a good theory, is there more power draw when things are moving on the screen?
