Hi my Bagman is missing some action sounds but others are there such as the background music. Its getting correct voltage and has been recapped. Any ideas lemme know thx all

Analog sounds - such as Bagman's voice - are generated by the 28-pin TMS5110ANL. I've seen numerous failures of the 5110, I'd start by swapping that.

yes very common issue. i have 4 bagman pcb that those TMS5110anl were bad. if you need them i have some in stock.

Eh well installed a new and extremely expensive TMS5110ANL chip and no change, still no action sounds

so sick of dealing with these little gremlin issues somedays i wonder why i collect arcade games

yep checked -5 voltage is good, must be something else

basically the action sounds are missing, when he jumps, climb, etc

Background music is the only sound

What about the action sounds? pick up a bag, drop a bag, player dies, drop bag in wheelbarrow?

I removed the TMS on my bagman and those sounds are still present. I can't remove the AY3 cos the controls are handled by it.
With the TMS removed, I miss the clicks of the pickaxe and the speech of course.

Then maybe one channel of the AY3-8910 is dead.
The 3 channels are tied togethe. You can determine wich one is dead by removing the pins 4, 3, and 38 from the socket.
Or swap it. They are quiet cheap. ;)
