So what happens if I hook up a good HV unit and deflection board to a bad 6100 tube?

The tube has a crack and I know there is no more vacuum in it.

will it destroy my flyback?

Basically want to see if the flyback in the HV unit and I don't have a good tube... So I would feel ok if it didn't blow up as a sign it might be good

I'm thinking this is a bad idea -- But I bet someone else has done it!
at least by accident!!

Don't do it.

Find another tube with the same pinout (if you can) and transfer the yoke...

You and a couple other Klovers mentioned you once came across a TV 100° tube.

But oddly neither of you mentioned the brand and model number of the TV, and you also never mentioned whether you tried it with a WG6100 chassis'.

Is all this top secret? A TV with a 100° tube would seem like a big deal these days.

I know that I would be looking for a replacement for a 6100

I never found a tube, but others have mentioned finding one.

You can test the HV and chassis with a 90-degree tube, but it won't look right or long-term use...

Well, you did say, "I did find a TV once with a 100-degree tube, but it wasn't the same tube number....", so I thought that meant you came across a 100° degree tube.

I might have. Can't recall now...

Zenith model number S1989W3 has a 100 degree tube with the wrong neck connector (cr-23) tube didn't have a sticker. Damn.....have another tv to crack open to see what adapter it takes but it will be a while. Zenith TV has woodgrain sides with a LED channel display. I'll post photos later if I get around to taking them.
