Last week, I had some horrible gameroom luck. First, my 99% working pinball up and died when I merely put the playfield glass back on. It is still dead after much troubleshooting. Board is being sent off for repair.

The next day, my Paperboy monitor up and died with no visible signs of why. Need to order a rebuild kit from Bob Roberts.

Friday, I went ahead and hosted a gamenight birthday party for my wife. For no apparent reason, the Jungle King MAME died. I still haven't looked into that one... I'm hoping the power strip got bumped off somehow.

When a party go-er asked me to turn on the darts, I was terrified to do so. The monitor was a little slow coming up (at least it seemed to me), and I was about ready to call it a night. It is fine though.

I think I will take a break from the gameroom for a week to make sure nothing else goes wrong.

Oy, that both sucks AND blows.

Tell me more about this "Jungle King MAME". Is this an original Jungle King cab with MAME guts or something?

The first Cabinet I ever got was a Taito painted black from Wade. It was empty, but had a Jungle King CP with 2 extra button holes drilled. It sat in my garage for ages, while other, more complete real arcade machines came and went. I finally buttoned it up about a year ago. I printed out a marquee and bezel myself. Made a mount for a decased 21" PC monitor, and stole my wife's desktop PC because I was having issues geting Jungle King running on older PC's.
I have 8 games running in a DOS batchfile loop.

I keep considering it for restoration, but I have a friend wanting to buy it next month.

Gotcha.

Did you consider getting that Jungle King kit that swolgam had for sale a while back?

Nah. It is not worth restoring to real Jungle King. It would be starting from a bare wood cabinet. After doing the same thing with a Pacman cocktail, I will NEVER make that mistake again. Even with Pac, I had to go MAME to save myself another $200+ on top of the $400 I have spent.
