bad Street fighter CE mask rom. what chip used to replace?

Hello. i have a bad mask rom on my street fighter II champion edition board and need to replace it. i am certain it is mask rom #4 and tried to create a new one with an eprom burner but it isnt working. i am using d27c4096 chips and i am assuming it is not compatible. what kind of chip should i be using and or, where can i get a replacement? thanks in advance!

On Capcom boards, the eprom type is usually etched
right on the PCB between each socket.

I "think" those boards might take 27c400 eproms
(... which are 42-pin mask-compatible 4Mb eproms ).

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Steph is correct in his previous post.

You can use a 27C400 in its place. If you get an eprom thats 150ns or 120ns for speed, you should be okay.

I have successfully subbed 27C400's in place of MASK PROMS on SF:CE boards.

Thanks alot guys. i ordered a 27c400 chip and will let you know how it goes.
