Yea I tried pushing on the roms and the board while it was on. When I pressed around one of the roms the flashing x's on the screen turned to 0's. It stayed that way and I could not recreate it again. I reseated the roms and they are all in good. Nothing I did poking around with all the wiring seemed to have any effect. I will try soldering a wire onto the pcb and running it down into below the playfield somewhere where I can find a ground and see if that does anything. I guess it is acting like there is a missing ground or something.
I am pretty sure I read somewhere that bad girls and a few others actually come with the door slam switch shut but I may be wrong.
True... but if that closed switch isn't making a good connection it would do the 0000000000000's on the screens. The reason why I recommended soldering the two wires together on the switch.
Ohhhh, i watched the beginning of your youtube video and you scare me.
you really need to take head of what KEN LAYTON keeps referencing about the repair guides.
and i'd suggest getting the dvd's from shaggy that talk about pinball restoration in a fun yet informative way.
sounds like you are VERY FAR from the point where you are messing with the boards.
start with something simple, like touching up the grounds on the light sockets with some solder. which will get you started on using a soldering gun without hurting anything due to over heating......
Just tested the c1 diode on the cpu board. It is showing 4.6 volts so it seems the board is getting enough power.
