Bad gear on Super Off Road 3-player. Other games? 3D printed?
I have a 3-player Super Off Road at the local arcade I work at. One of the small gears on the P1 steering wheel has two missing teeth. I'm trying to find a replacement, but I'm striking out on the usual sites.
I tried ordering a generic kit similar to what Oldpoltroon did in this thread[,/URL] but all of them are too small for this. Judging by the 3/32" center hole he drilled they'd probably work for the 2-player assembly, but not for me. Mine has a much larger shaft/gear.
It occurred to me that they may be a fairly generic assembly used by other games. Anyone know if a similar game uses this assembly? Mine is the assembly seen in this video: https://youtu.be/zlVcuWbfIsg?t=7m56s
The other option (which I have no experience with) is 3D printing a new one. I'm a fairly practical and technically minded artist, but I'm no engineer. Any recommendations? Thought if I go this route I could at least post the model on thingverse for future use (including my own if the other 2 fail).
Can't find my digital caliper, but gear is a 14 tooth gear with an outer diameter just under 5/8" (approx 15.7mm). Knurled center post is approx 7mm.
Sorry for the lack of pics. Didn't think to take photos while I was at the arcade yesterday.
