Man Im so bummed out right now, I went to remove some stuff from a garage I rent only to find it must have flooded in the last couple of days. I had a great condition atari basketball a project mini hang on and a parts stargate that are all junk now . Im questioning my future in this hobby at this point and will be listing a bunch of parts here shortly.

I know your pain amigo... when I had a warehouse find of 63 games, I had my mind freakin' blown away!!!!!

oooonly to find that all these cabs had sat in about a foot of water for a period of time because of no drainage.

fortunately, alot of them still worked, but moving them around was scary, and sometimes fatal to the game.

Repairing bases in multitudes isn't any fun, but with any given hobby, you'll have your ups and downs. It's in the downs where you'll discover whether it's for you or not. I just took about a 2-month absence from anything arcade related, and now I feel like a newlywed again, lol.

Hey thanks for the reply.

I just found out that the person living next to my storage garage had an accident filling their pool and flooded the whole area :(

...then that person is responsible, no? Get a lawyer if you think it's worth it...

Its not worth it, It ruined my day for sure but the legal system doesnt cator to small claims bs like this very easily. The people are renters also and dont look to have much if any money. The basketball game isnt worth much or desirable but I liked it is all.

Well, keep your head up. These are just games after all. There are millions of people who would love to have your troubles trust me. One of the only good things about being down so low is that there is only one way to go from there. Up.

Dude,
that sucks! :(
Not the end of the world tho... perhaps you can help some one else's game back to life.
cheers (?)

Is there any insurance on that place even renters would help.

Good point because not only would they pay out but they'd likely turn around and sue the people that flooded the place to recover their damages.

It takes $25.00 to file a small claims court case. Frankly, I'd go talk to them...show them the damage and ask for restitution. If they refused, I'd take their asses to small claims court...

Well, you could think of it this way: you know can part out those games, make some cash, and put it towards a better game... trust me, its all possible. I've had the luck of parting out a $1 non working Race Drivin, then bought a $100 Nonworking Galaga with plenty of cash to spare, and then traded for a $700 Eight Ball Champ that just has some flipper problems and bad side art.

Now if a 17 year old without a license can do all that in a 50 mile radius with just ONE game, imagine what you can do. Think positive, think very positive. :)
