Caps cause dark spots, it happened to my sanyo but an easy fix. I don't think a tube does that I think the whole thing is dim and then needs a rejuv. Unless there's some serious defect.

I would guess a transistor or trace is not doing so hot. Next guess is cap. I absolutely don't think it's the tube.

This is my GUESS... I'm not an expert and am not providing this as advice (we don't even know what monitor it is).

I'd just do the caps anyways. If it turns out to be the tube you'd sell the chassis at a premium, you'd fetch more money that way anyways and also help out the future buyer (if it's not something you can re-use yourself without finding another rare tube), so might as well.

Cap kit it is. Updates when done. Thanks!

C50, C56 and C57 is all I changed.

Why not just do the whole thing if 3 were dead that means most of the caps are close to being claimed by the cap reaper. Its easy to recap a monitor once the chassis is out. Takes like 40 minutes to do the whole thing.

$60 is a lot for some of my customers.

Getting arcades is like getting classic cars, you shouldn't get one if you can't drop quite a few dollars at a moments notice.

My guess is the tube, I have had several that were to dim for the happ guns to register, even after being re capped. If you have access to a rejuvenator it's worth a try.
