Bad boards

I keep a small stash of parts boards. I like having them around so that I pull parts off of them, if I'm in a pinch. There has been plenty of times that the "junk" pile of boards has saved me a trip to Radio Shack, or waiting a week for a order from Mouser.

Sell 'em cheap to me. ;)

I have a small building out back: 8 x 10 with 8' tall walls that is lined with shelves to hold the parts boards.

Some I fix to sell, others are stripped for parts so that more boards may live.

What do you do with bad boards besides keep them for parts? I am getting a small collection.

The industry standard is to put them up on Ebay as "untested" ;)

But seriously... if they're really not worth the time & effort to repair, it can be worthwhile keeping a few parts boards if you can go to the trouble of removing an IC or two. If you don't normally keep a stock of TTL's to hand then having a few scrap boards is a great way to 'store' spares.

Let it go. You keep pressing it and you might be the one that gets these boards shut down. Seriously.

Yah yah yah... all of a sudden everyone around here has lost their sense of humor. Thanks for the contribution...

I still have my sense of humor, I found it funny actually. But your style of pressing i.e. you calling or pointing out the hypocrisy in your weight loss thread, little snide comments here and there, could contribute to Mclemore shutting the boards down as he has hinted. You really want to be a part/cause of that?

Of course not... but if these forums aren't entertaining, what's the point of them in the first place? I get it though...I'll back down.

Agreed, at this time when tensions are high and patience is thin, there won't be much fun until the proper rules are set. Once they are, back at it. Thanks for seeing that, I'd hate for this place to get shut down.

BTW, FWIW Frizz, I thought your comment was funny/clever... But as dek said, the timing is wrong. :D

Oh... And for an answer to the thread Q, make 3-ring binders out of them! Looks pretty cool, fo reals.

Returning with great effort to the topic at hand....
- use them as potato (or potatoe for Quayle fans) graters
- as previously stated, sell them on Ebay (or the for sale forum) as untested
- use them as thread starters as in "Please ID this board for me"
- post them on Ebay at $0.99 with $35 shipping (hoping for someone that won't read the whole listing)
- use them as Free Friday contest bait
- combinations i.e. "first person to post an unPhotoShopped Phet picture gets this unidentified untested board for the $35 shipping charge..."
- save them in boxes in your garage and put specific instructions in your will on how to dispose of these rare and priceless items (then laugh your ass off from the afterlife)
- find a friend that shoots skeet (Pull!...:D)
- make shurikens out of them

The possibilities are endless.....

Edit: That was a funny comment Frizz. If we can't have fun, what is the point?
