I have one open spot in my gameroom for one last pinball. I have the opportunity to buy a 100% BTTF pin that is HUO. He wants 1200 cash, is it worth it? I have been debating filling this last spot for a while because once its filled, buying games is on hold until the next house. Any opions on this machine? Looks pretty cool.

Thanks

I like the game, but what would it be put next to? That price range has a lot of games in it and some may fit with your other games better than others.

probably comes down to whether or not the theme is right for you....personally, i'd love to have one. but i love the BTTF movies.

only place i know to go for pin pricing is:

depending upon how much stock you want to put in those prices, i'd say it's on the high end of the scale but not out of line...especially if it's really nice.

wish i had the $$$ for one right now.

Does it really matter what it's going to be put next to? I mean I only have 1 pin and when I'am financially ready I'am going get another soon. I wont care if it Lord of the Rings next to my High Speed. If it the right price I'am buying, I'am not gonna say well I dont think it will look good next to my other machines so I'll pass.

Ok, anyway the BTTF had me stump though. Have you played one pudluther? I never seen one before in person ever. Is it a fun game?

i've only seen it played....haven't had the opportunity to play one myself. looks pretty cool...and the music is fantastic.

i'd buy one, but again, i'm a HUGE fan of the movies. and that's a relatively family-friendly theme, which is pretty high on my list for determining which pins i'm going to pursue (have small children).

It's a sub-$1000 game.

Pros: Great music and light shows

Cons: Everything else. Shallow, almost no rules, gets boring once you've played better games.

BTTF was my first pin, bought it for about $300 ...for that price, no brainer. $1200 gets you something WAAAAAY better.

I bought mine for $900 and I love it. It's nothing complex but the music is awesome and I put LEDs in it and it really brings it to life. Make sure the ramp isn't cracked

wow..

I missed whole part of this post im stuck staring at the avatar. ;)

It matters what what game it goes next to. Games can be awesome but get old quick, they can be easy, hard, intense, geared for kids etc. Example, I loved Nightmare On Elm Street growing up. I'd love to have one, but because it's not the best player out there it's probably not a good pin right now for my small collection. Now, if the deal is good, and I have a few others to play as well, it becomes more viable.

Also, for someone buying their first pin, they probably want one that is great all around. Pick up a game that you can master in your first day, if that's your only game your not going to keep it very long. But if you love everything about the pin, it's got neat toys, theme art etc, if you have other games to play when it gets old, it might be worth a pick up.

The other pins in my row are World Cup 94, Data East Batman, and Strikes N Spares....

You've already got one boring/easy DE game (Batman) ...you don't need 2. For $1200 you could get Bram Stoker's Dracula, or even a widebody like Demolition Man or Judge Dredd ...or a better DE game like Tales from the Crypt. It's all about bang for the buck...if it's cheap, go for it....$1200 - no way.

Yeah, given his lineup I'd be looking for something like Bram Stoker's Dracula, Whirlwind, or another WMS/Bally value title.

Oh yeah, lets not discount the good pre-DMD games...yeah, Whirlwind is a good one for $1200 ...Black Knight 2000 (might be more, I got lucky) ...F-14 Tomcat. Hurricane is a pretty fun "cheap" DMD, as well.

I think you really need to be a fan of the movies and soundtrack to like the pin.

I played it a lot back in the day, but today I think most people would get bored quickly with it.

If you are a big fan of the movies, then go for it. But as others have mentioned, don't plan on flipping it for a quick profit.

Well I ended up passing on the machine. It cost me a day and gas money but ohhh well. It was in not as good of shape as the guy said. Had loose parts rattling around on the playfield and it actually reset itself during play. Now I just need to find a decent pin to fill my last spot!
