WOOHOO!

What a LONG LONG LONG road trip! Dallas to Milwaukee and back in 6 days. The show was great, but not meet many KLOVers there.

Did anyone else go? Did you score some great buys?

I picked up some old TI-99/4a computers, an Atari 5200, parts boards, and a good deal on some IC chips (74S189) and sold about 1/2 of the stuff I brought. Not bad for 2 event days.

It's rough being off the internet for 6 days though. ;) We just got home about an hour ago and I have to sort through website orders, shipping, and unpacking everything.

My buddy was there selling games-Trade-N-Games. He said he had a great time. I wish I was able to go but my current job needs me on weekends.

Yeah I went myself...Way too cool of an event! It was my first time there and will be a regular from now on...

Almost picked up a Bally Dungeons and Dragons pinball machine but waited till see what expo offers.

Channel, did you see the gentleman there with the TI99 demo? He played "Sweet Caroline" through the speech synthesizer...It was AWESOME!!!!!

I was hoping to attend this year but needed to finish a work project. Did any of you guys attend Eugene Jarvis' presentation?

I was going to go, but looked like it was going to be mostly console games and stuff like that. Plus I was picking up a Spy Hunter and Solar Quest this past Saturday.

I didn't. :( I was manning my tables both days.

Did you see the TI-99/4 that was in the museum? That was one I sold by 8:30am on Saturday morning. I wasn't sure that a rare computer would've even sold at that show but it went before the doors officially opened!

Curious, what was its rarity due to?

They didn't make very many of them before the follow-on machine that flooded every store out there, the TI-99/4a.

We actually get a lot of requests for vintage computer equipment. That's one of the reasons I also have vintage computers in my half of the museum area. The show is actually created to be equally console, computer, pinball, and video coin, past to present.

We wound up having a good 170 coin-ops this year. I have a gallery of many of the areas of the show here:

Thanks for the pics!

I couldn't find myself in any of them, my secret identity is still safe :)

I would have liked to go, but definitely too far for me. Does anyone know if there is a similar event on the East coast?

It's actually the only event in the country that covers all 4 areas equally, past to present. (I.E. not just consoles, or not just computers, not just coins, not just retro, not just modern, etc.). And we moved up to 30,000 sq ft. last year.

The closest thing to it near you would be Chuck Whitby's Too Many Games in PA, though they're more console orientated:

I was kind of bummed about the new location this year.
In previous years, lived about 10 minutes from the location held THIS year, and now I bought a house about 15-20 minutes from the previous location, and it's about an hour to get to it's new home, I can't win! :D

...hmm..reading this I'm not sure it made ANY sense, but I'm going to hit submit anyway, heh.

I really wanted to go, its right down the street..

But I can't see paying 20$ for a Sat ticket..

Great Pics!

That's actually more than reasonable given the cost of the new location and space and content expansion, and the fact you're talking about 8 hours worth of free play on 170 coin-ops, tons of consoles, computers, events, industry speakers, etc., etc. There was also the family day on Sunday where admission was only $10.

Hehe, sorry. Makes it easier on me though this year, ;) But seriously, we had outgrown the Olympia and just about doubled our space this year with the move to the Sheraton. We literally had the entire place, all the conference space (upstairs, downstairs, the entire back wing), all the hallways, lobbies, etc. They pretty much gave us the entire run of the place. Also had to expand to two speaking areas this year because we had so many speakers sign up.

You sold it to Erik, his father used to work for TI and he's a specialist collector in that (hence why I'm happy to have him in the museum area).
