Back by popular demand.......Panasonic 7" LCD monitors

Morning bump. I still have some available right now. I will try and get as many shipped out on Tuesday as I can (depending on work).

A few folks (not me because I got mine from the latest batch) seemed a little irritated because they were on the list but did not get back in time for whatever reason and missed out on the last batch - maybe reaching out to them first would restore the the Karmic balance in the KLOV realm :)?

Bill

I think I've gotten to everyone from the last time now. These are moving pretty quickly, but I still have some right now.

Ok I know most are using this for a test bench monitor and they look great but I have another use in mind and was wondering if anyone has tried using it in bright sunlight? It looks like the brightness of this monitor might be 400 nit. If so it wont be great in the sun but might not be to bad. Just wondering if anyone could try it in direct sunlight and take a picture or describe how it looks.

Ok, I tried it out in the sun, and it wasn't bad. I was able to play Tetris fine without adjusting the brightness. I tried taking pictures, but that didn't work very well.

Thanks for trying it in the sunlight. If you still have one I'll give it a try. I can always make a portable Jamma tester for the work bench. :D PM sent

I still have some of these left, and I think I have heard back from everyone who may have gotten passed over last time. I'm going to try and get as many sent out tomorrow as I can.

The first round of packages got shipped out at noon today. You guys should be getting them in a couple of days.

Well if the connectors I have coming (should have them tomorrow) are the right ones (went with Molex instead of the other manufacturer), I should be able to make some...

Excellent! Hey man, you should really upload the models of your MiniBeast project you're doing with this monitor. That thing is really cool. :001_scool:

Close, but no cigar. Guess I'll be ordering the right ones. So much for trying to save some money...

Then just build a second one with a JAMMA harness coming out the back. :D

I've got some good plans for a JAMMA test station, but that'll be after the MiniBeasts are done.

Yeah, I think someone tried Molex connectors before. I'm pretty sure the ones from the Digikey links on the first page are the only ones that really work. I was actually going to order some of them, but I thought I'd see how yours worked out.

Oh, by the way, I still have a few of these monitors left.

I ordered a few additional connectors from Digi-Key, so I can also make some extra cables if anyone needs one.

Whoever said those terminals are tiny wasn't kidding. My crimper just barely goes small enough.
