Have a Baby pacman and just found out that there is suppose to be a ball in the ball loop at the top of the playfield above the drop targets, the ball wasn't there when I got the game. I put one in and from what I understand when you hit the ball in the loop and it rolls to the other side you are suppose to get a power pellet, is that correct? That doesn't happen with mine even if I push down on the switch by hand.

Thanks for the info:) Wonder why that is not happening on mine? The switches don't seem to be doing anything and they seem to be making contact.

I haven't fiddled with it, but, the horseshoe that the captive ball sits in has a switch on either side. The ball rests on one switch, and when hit hard, moves to the other switch. This way you can score a pellet by hitting the ball to the other side, no matter what side the ball starts on. Have you tried to hold down one switch while starting pinball, letting go of that switch, then hitting the other one? Try to mimic what the ball does :)

That is how it is made to work. You are good.

Also the ball needs to sit there for about 1/2 a second to register. So sometimes you will get it to travel to the other side and hit it back and get nothing.

Check that whole dipswitch thread to enable the most liberal settings.

Doesn't seem to be a dip switch setting for it, nothing in the manual. I checked the voltage going to the switch and when it is closed it shows about 3.3v. I tried pushing down on the switches and got nothing, doesn't seem to be registering. Also check all the switches with the self diagnostics and it isn't showing any problem with those 2 switches for the ball loop.

Figured out the reason why the loop switch wasn't working, the ground wire in the connecting harness for the switch wasn't making a connection in the harness. I noticed that none of the playfield switches were working and they all had the same ground so I followed the ground to the harness and found the problem. It sure makes it more fun to play now that i can get power pellets by hitting the ball around the loop and makes it an easier game to play also:) Thanks to all for your input.

I wonder if adding a capacitor to the switch would make it more responsive. Some games that use roll overs have ceramic caps added to the switch to make it respond faster. This could help when you slam the ball and it bounces back to where it originally was resting. Getting robbed of that pellet on your last guy is the worst.
