Hi Folks!
I thought while current owners of this game are chatting, I would ask a few questions.
I bot mine off ebay and the description was sale for parts, but I have enjoyed restoring it. Almost playable but....
Plastics: I have the complete set - but they are broken around the screw holes and slightly warped...ideas to fix?
Playfield "leveling": I don't see any levelers like you do on a full pin. I know mine is very flat - not sure what angle needs to be.
Ball in upper middle: not sure how to adjust this to actually do a 180 - might be part of playfield angling.
Flipper sticking: easy to adjust or do I need to do a rebuild?
Intermittent freezing during power-up...every so often it starts up, I look at the 2 green lcds - but the monitor does not go past a purple haze... I have found that if I turn all the switches to off that this somehow resets it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris
Check here for how to flatten your playfield plastics:

As far as leveling, I'm not sure what angle it should be at, but the loop ball at the top should be able to make it 180 degrees when hit with enough force, and will sometimes bounce back to the other side if hit too hard.
There are levelers, or legs, that should go under the playfield on each side in the front. They screw into the bottom of the playfield. I have 2 in mine, one on each side. Perhaps that's your leveling issue. Of course you can always prop up one bottom end of the cabinet higher than the others to see if that helps too.
The sticking flipper can be either a shorted wire, a bad pin in your connector on the solenoid board, a bad coil, a bad diode (or diodes) on the coil, dirty EOS switches, and/or cold solder joints on the solenoid board. It depends. Is it intermittent? Does it work but move slowly?
I've had my machine behave weird because of a stuck switch or 2 also. Check to make sure that all of your switches are not stuck, and are properly spaced. But, most likely this is due to communication errors between the MPU and Vidiot. So, if you haven't replaced the connectors in the machine yet...do so ASAP.
Plenty to keep you busy for sure.
