Wow!!!
These things are nearly impossible to have working at 100% for more than a week or so.
I've had sooo many issues that needed fixing...and now I've got a new one.
The left flipper is dead! It began dying, and slowly went out completely over a few days. I believe I've tested almost everything according to http://www.pinrepair.com/bally/index3.htm and still a dead flipper. The last attempt at getting it working was replacing the coil. But still, it won't fire.
The coil is receiving 43VDC at all 3 legs, and the transistor on the solenoid board tests good. So, it's getting power, and it's new. But, when I use alligator clips to ground the coil to the playfield ground wire, the coil does not fire. The right one works fine, with this test method.
I know my ground wires are good because my right flipper works, and the wires are daisy chained thru the left flipper to the right.
The left coil also does not fire in test mode.
The only thing left I haven't checked are the CA3081 chips, because I'm not sure which legs to test, and which chip to test.
Does anyone have a suggestion before I go ahead and replace both of them?
