So I've got a Space Invaders and SID, both have nice working monitors.. I've got the chance to buy a Crash & Score:

The C&S is missing it's monitor chassis.. Any chance I could swap in a SI one? C&S is 23" and SI is 19" :(

I've also got a Tank II that has a monitor, but i'm pretty sure it's chassis is non working..

Do I have any options? Any help would be great..

Thanks

If the chassis are in the same family (Motorolla, Wells-Gardner, etc) they may be swappable. If they are not in the same family you shouldn't try to swap them.

So what monitor chassis do you have?

I'll take a look at the chassis on my shelf tonight.. No idea what's in the SI or SID.. I'll check those too.. Mostly wanted to know if a 19" would work on a 23" tube.. thanks

In my experience.....19"ers and 23"ers use the same chassis. The only difference is the tube(size) and yoke....and a lot of times you can fudge the yoke. Now, yokes from different manufacturers are very different....meaning, a Motorola M5000 chassis can not be plugged up to a Wells-Gardner V1000 tube/yoke (actually, the tubes are the same).

The yoke has to match the chassis....even a Motorola "XM" series yoke is not compatible with a Motorola "M" series yoke.

got some info

I've got a Wells V1001 in my SID.. That one's working...

Also have a KV700 on my shelf, that one might need some help and it's only a chassis.. no idea if it works..

In my Tank II, I've got a XM501-10 .. that one has neck glow, but no picture even when you turn up the brightness... monitor has zero burn...

Picking up a SI tonight that works, don't know what's in that..

The Crash & Score had a XM701 or a M7000... with a Sylviania tube..

I have a non-working moto that came from a 23". I believe its the one with the sound amp built in if you're interested - some came that way (like a Sanyo). This chassis had the same problem - a blank raster but no picture if I remember correctly.
