Well i was told that the broken piece is just a clamp. So now i need to figure out why it did not power up.

So after going thru it i found a blow fuse here. After replacing it it blow as soon as its powered on. Any suggestions?

Test the diodes just after the fuse, they may be shorted.

Also, your flyback may still be blown, I have only ever seen the clamps cracked after the flyback gave out.

Thanks Ken.

The chances of getting a flyback are pretty slim am i right?

Is this monitor worth fixing or should i look for a replacement?

Thanks

First, I wouldn't assume the flyback is gone. Check rectifier diodes (as mentioned) and check the horizontal output transistor (and driver transistor). Also check for cold solder joints.

Do you have a schematic for this monitor?

?/

the regulator transistor is the first suspect

the one on the left of chassis, remove it then replace the fuse..

does the fuse still blow?

Check the regulator transistor out of circuit?

mention the number on it

and the size fuse you replace and what should be in it..?

the regulator transistor sends dc voltage to the rest of the chassis

removing it will open the circuits during testing

to find a short thats causing the fuse to blow or a under rated fuse.
