Before I send an email to B&K, anyone already have a scan? or even a hard copy they don't need?

Specifically, looking for the 467 and 470 parts list and/or schematic.

Re: B&K Precision Rejuvenator Parts List or Schematic

my 470 happens to have a schematic and parts list with it. I'll scan it for ya tomorrow morning.
I don't have a 467, but i do have a 466. I think i've seen a schem for it at some point. Seems like it might actually be on paper attatched to the case once you pull the board out. If it would help, let me know, and i'll open the 466 up and have a looksee.

I believe I have a 467 schematic and parts list I could photocopy. The original schematics are included in your setup manual that came with your rejuvenator. However, many people lose their copy. The originals are tiny though and hard to read. I took mine and enlarged them at Kinko's.

Not what you need, but I scanned the manual for my 490. Unfortunately, I am scanning illiterate, so the file is like 25-MB....

Thanks guys. I just noticed people responded to the thread.
My schematic and parts list is missing. My manual for the 467 has a simplified schematic, but that doesn't help.

If Cdjump and Ken could provide the 467 and 470 schematic and parts list I'd appreciate it. Let me know if you need an email address.

Thanks again.

Scanning tip - for a black and white schematic, scan at 200dpi in BLACK AND WHITE mode. That will greatly reduce the file size. If it comes out too grainy, bump it up to 300dpi.

here's the schematic.

I did it at 300dpi because the schematic lines aren't bright and bold, and you really need to be able to zoom in on the image to see everything clearly. Too low of a dpi and zooming in just gives a blurry schematic that can't be read easily. I've noticed this issue with several manuals on xmission.

I have Adobe Reader/Writer/Illustrator. What I need to figure out is how to scan it in as a document, and not a jpeg file....

In the full version of Acrobat (writer) you should be able to open the Jpeg and save as PDF. After that try the PDF optimizer to make it even smaller (file size).

Re: B&K Precision Rejuvenator Parts List or Schematic

I agree with modessitt. I've viewed a lot of the schematics and manuals and have scanned in a few myself. I want the scans to look as good as possible and be full size. For uploading to xmission, everyone is trying to make an archive for people to use so why shortcut it?

Mod, For the Arm Wrestling schematics each page was like a 90MB scan. After putting it through Acrobat, I believe I got the schematics down and assembled into a PDF to ~12MB PDF and there isn't any noticeable quality loss.. I can try to look up my settings to see what I did if you'd like.

Although, for some scans I'll take what I can get.

I'd like to know what you process is. I have a couple of manuals I'd like to add to the database as well.

Re: B&K Precision Rejuvenator Parts List or Schematic

I work in insurance and we scan at least about 10 phone books worth of paper a day (using a $6k Canon scanner). We default to 200dpi b/w for most docs but yeah for artwork you need to bump it up a hair. The PDF optimizer removes all the white space out of the file so while the actual image doesn't get changed at all, just the file size gets reduced a LOT. I've done this for many scanned docs here, like an insurance proposal that has several blank pages but in the file its stored as a bunch of 1's. The PDF optimizer replaces the image data with "blank page" code, hence the "optimize" part ;-)

Also when I was scanning some car manuals, I found that tinkering with the contrast/brightness adjustment on the scanner software using black and white mode makes a big difference as well.

Lastly - if its an old document or on thin/gray paper, photocopy it to nice clean white paper for a much nicer scan.

Hope that helps!
