B&K Precision CRT Rejuvenator Extravaganza!!!

+1 on all of this.

I bought 2 on eBay - one working, one not - and fixed the non-working one. With the right adapters added to the deal it sold for more than I paid for both units.

The right adapters can make the deal go well north of $100. Especially considering that the right used adapters (for arcade use) go for $30 to $40 each.

I bought a combo deal off here. Got a 470 with a new CR23 and a non-working 467. Fixed the 467 with some cold solder joints repair and some new caps. The 470 also had about 6 adapters with it including a CR6 which works on BW vector tubes. I bought both units with adapters for $80 shipped so I guess I did pretty well. :)

Since we're on the subject of rejuvenators, has anyone ever sent their unit to B&K for repair or calibration? I've heard that they will still do that for their equipment. I have a 470 that works, but I've thought it might be nice to have them give it a good once over to make sure it's working as good as it can.

Here's their policy now:

Thanks for the link, Ken. Looks like they don't even service anything that's been discontinued for more than 7 years. Even at that, they want $200 or so to calibrate a non-warrantied 490B so I can only assume it would be that much or more even if they did anything with my 470. I can understand their position though.
