Awesome vintage exit light added to my Missile Command Room

Bought this on feebay. I'm not quite sure how old it is, but I doubt it's newer than the 1950s. The base is aluminum, and the glass is super thick. Its red with gray letters. It even had a weird old time bulb in it...a 50 watt bulb. And it works so I'm using that. The pics don't do it justice; it's just so cool to see in person. And oh, that particular wall doesn't have an exit...yet. Stay tuned...

Pic 1: Disassembled for cleaning. Damn it was dirty

Pic 2: "Union Made" sticker still in tact. In the USA of course...

Pic 3: The globe out of the base.

Pic 4: Mounted on wall, light off.

3 more pics, 2 with it lit up. Wish the pics were better, but these were the best shots I could get. Anyone know where a light like this may have been mounted BITD?

You never cease to amaze me; great light - could it have been from a bus or airplane even with the 120V?

Elevator?

I cannot find it online.

To be honest I haven't even researched it yet. Not sure about a bus, airplane, or elevator, never even thought of those. I keep thinking REALLY old movie theater exit, but who knows.

Wait till I put a doorway thru that wall, and connect the MC room with the small side of my arcade...then the light will serve a new purpose. Next week maybe

Looks like a Perfeclite to me. Used in schools....government buildings......factories.....maybe even a theatre.....etc.....from the 1930's or so. Very AWESOME and VERY collectible!

I love it John.....great addition......

Looks like you're right Alan, not that I doubted you! Found a couple links. That's cool that its more than likely from the 30s! I think my turnstile is from that era as well.

I suppose it makes sense a light salvaged from a gym would have the protective bars on it. Cool as well.

I got outbid on one with a green globe with white letters. Kinda glad I did, because this one popped up shortly after. I like the red better. Goes better with my theme.

Looks good Johnny boy. Can't wait to see it at your next arcade gathering ;)

Looks great John! How do you find all this cool old stuff? :) I can't wait to see pics of all your recent "upgrades"...

Thanks for the comments guys. Fact is I've been wanting a light like this for a long time. I keep having all these cool ideas for my gameroom, and I have been implementing them for some time now. I've got some big changes coming really soon. Can't wait to share with everyone. Stay tuned...
