This is an original, dedicated, AVP, 3 player, big blue cab. It is in excellent unmolested shape. The B board is unphoenixed and the serial matches the A board. The monitor in the cab is absolutely beautiful the pics seriously don't do it justice. The game is in 100% good working order and the battery was just changed last week. The instruction manual is in great shape, and is still in the bag with the remove sticker affixed to it. The inside is also super clean (sorry pics are a little blurry), the wiring harness is unhacked and the cab has all original locks and keys. There are 2 minor flaws in the cab, the first is the wood on the header did get crackedand the second is the glass protecting the monitor got tagged. Both are an easy fix and really don't detract much from the cab's overall excellent shape. I am asking $700 for it please feel free to pm me with any questions or if you would like additional pics.

Thanks for all the kind words guys if your really interested I can ship it for like $250 via my company account. Shipping would be fob though once it leaves my doorstep I am no longer responsible.

Thats not a dedicated machine. The numbers may match; all thay means is it has all the original components of the kit. A factory installed kit would have the full uncut version of the marquee. In a cabinet similar to the one used in captain commando

I assume they were put into all 3 versions of the big blue originally (although I also prefer the 'big marquee' versions). Can you swap big blue headers between the small one and the large (not connected) one?

Also looks like you need the instruction card

I'm surprised they didn't make cpo decals for the kits...would have been nice.

Really? What other 3 player cabs did they make besides AVP? The cp is original and it has 0 bondo in it I will post pics when I go back to my warehouse. was it possible to obtain a cp from capcom without buying a cab?

Thanks for the art scans TX. Actually that cant be true here is a US flyer for the machine while it does retain the big marquee it is clealy not a captain comando cab due to the speakers, square cab shape, and control panel. Also at the bottom is a pic in the captain commando with AVP in it so that proves it at least came in 2 different revisions.(sorry couldnt find a bigger pic). Update also found what appears to be an ad clipping for one that looks like mine exactly so I would say with 99.99% confidence it is original. The fact that most were big marquee cabs might make this one rare.

Again, cabs shipped from the factory came in the captain commando cab.

Good catch. The one in the flyer is the only dedicated version. My comment was "similar to captain commando" with regard to the marquee size. There are simularities to both yours and cc but the fact remains what u have isnt dedicated. Very nice though... just not the dedicated version. Well worth your price though.. good luck with the sale.

Well thank you and not trying stir the pot or be an ignoramus but I am just wondering how you know for certain it isn't dedicated? Did you work for capcom coinop? It really appears to be dedicated based on the manual baggy board set and control panel. I would just like to know if there is any way to tell for certain like a marking or sticker on the cab if indeed you do have expert knowledge on them.

There are two different kits availble for Alien vs Predator.

The first kit below is the full kit which includes PCB, all necessary graphics, buttons, joysticks, and a volume/test bracket. This kit is used for a cabinet that will be upgraded with the CPS II board for the first time.

The second kit is called the "B" Kit. This kit is for any cabinet that already uses the CPS II board (Super Street Fighter II). This kit includes the "B" board and all necessary graphcis. Just remove the top cartridge off the montherboard and replace with the new catridge.

not trying to stir the pot.. I just read though my post and apologise for their "shortness" i was on my phone and its hard to type a thoughtfull message. seriously, not meaning to thread crap.

as someone pointed out there are two Kit versions. The game is essentially a kit either way you slice it. what i was saying is Capcom did however, ship some kits from the factory preinstalled in their cabinets. Hense what you see in the flyer. So if we were going to call any version of this Kit "dedicated" it would be the one you see in the flyer.

thats all. No im not a former capcom employee but did exhastingly collect capcom CSP1/2 stuff for 10 years so i do know a little.

YOur game is nice, priced to sell. i wish you the best. i hope the discussion gave your for sale alot of visibility. im sure it will go quick.

I'm pretty certain AvP DID NOT come in the Captain Commando cab. The cabs used for Captain Commando had round speakers and predated Capcom's Q-Sound amp and CPS-2 hardware. There was a version of the Q-Sound cab that had the large marquee space similar to Captain Commando, but every AvP I ever saw (only 3 of them) had the standard marquee size ala Dan's cab for sale, that's not to say that none were released in the larger marquee size. I'd be shocked if Dan's cabinet wasn't issued by Capcom.

another thing ive noticed with capcom and sega especially and a few others is that with any dedicated/factory installed versions of a game, they often (not every case) change the art in a very subtle way (why a lot of art has a revision #s on it) so that the trained eye can distinguish one from the other.

Notice the placement of the title in the marquee on the flyer and all other pictures of the installed kits.

Games that shipped as a kit were intended to have the marquees cut to size which is why the game title is centered. factory installed kits would have had the varience you see in the flyer because they werent intended to be altered.

that is not a "prototype" version of marquee.
