Im curious to know when you guys dismantle your findings how many quarters do you usually find?
and what is the ODDEST place you find them?

behind the Control panel in my asteroids cocktail revealed a PILE of 14 quarters.
I DONT KNOW how they got there.
The coin mech was jammed, opened it up another 5 were jammed in places I didn't know could fit them,
there was another 3 under the power supply. and 1 behind the PCB

What about you guys?

Usually a couple. Then some screws or nuts. Just one more reason I don't power up an unknown machine until I check the insides for FOD. :)

Someone here found a flesh colored item in a cabinet once. THAT is likely the strangest thing I've heard of found in a cab. Quarters? The most I've found was about $35.00... the average is probably about a buck or so.

I've found lots of tokens, but never any quarters! :p

LOL man the "Old Dildo In The Choplifter" story still makes me laugh.

for me, a few quarters and recently a brown recluse spider.

I guess I probably average about 5 quarters per game. I have had 36 games pass through the garage, and find a few quarters here and there. My Space Invaders pin had $36 in the coin box, so that upped the average quite a bit.

From my 4 games:

Frogger - 2 quarters
Swimmer - 0 quarters
Time Soldiers - 3 quarters
Assault - 4 quarters

So 2+0+3+4=9

9/4 = 2.25

Which means a grand total of 2 quarters per machine. :(

Most of the games that I have found quarters in had about $3 in them. I found $35 in a Neo-Geo MVS once though.

I found $17.50 in a Super Strike that was given to me, $5.00 in a Monaco GP that I parted, and the rest of the games are less than a buck.

My average is about 3... the most was $28 in quarters, some small change.... and about 5 tokens.... It was in a Pengo I bought for $100.

The last bulk of 17 games I found a little over $100 in quarters... My best was buying three Die Hard arcades and finding around $80 in quarters... I only paid $60 total for the 3...

i found 10.50 under the coin box...i had to pull the whole unit out to get at the test/service switch and when i did, the quarters were under the metal frame that the coin bucket sits on...makes me wish i'd have taken all the frames out of the games i got rid of just for a look see

in my games, it's generally 1-2 dollars, if that. usually an empty coin box with a few quarters rolling around or stuck on the base of the cab.

Found 22 in a Virtua Racing I bouoght over the weekend. HAd a HUGE padlock on the back with hasp. I had to take out the marquee adn speaker assy above teh monitor and crawl back 1/2 way into the machine just to get to the nuts on teh inside holding the hasp on. Got it and didn't put a scratch on the back door. I know a few people would have jsut pulled the bolts through the door, but i wnated to keep it in good shape.

Well I'm sure my average is really high.

Last year I bought a Big Choice Toy crane off Craigs List for $100. When I got it home and broke the lock I found $590 worth of quarters in the coin box.:D:D:eek:

Found:

Pac-man: 0

Crazy Climber: 0

Speed Buggy: 2

Tetris: 12 and some cents

Star Wars: 0

Average: 2.8

I notice the more worn down the game the more quarters.
