Avatar Limited Edition #14

Congrats Chris, is this 2 for you now?

Dennis

I sold my BK2K because I wasn't happy with the condition, I'll buy another but It's my GRAIL pin so I want a perfect one. I will have a Xenon pretty soon so I'll have 30 years between my two pins :) I do plan on getting the TRON pin but not until Christmas. The only other pin that is on my absolute must have right now is....now don't laugh.... Frontier :) I played this every day for 3 years just about but I had no idea what it was until I started asking around. All I remembered was the wolf on the back glass. Again probably going to be tough to find one in nice condition.

I got a avatar during pinball expo and i love it, its not LE, i got mine before they even knew there was an LE, but im still thrilled with it.

You know how you got into vids and one led to another and such. Its the same with pins, except more expensive. Juts make sure that the ones you get are because you want it. Dont fall for the peer pressure, all that will do is cost you $$. Ive got 18 or so in my private collection, and another 40 or so that i work on and get rid of. Most people think that my collection is cool, but those that go after MM, AFM, MB, CC etc kind of collection are usually somewhat snobs (no offense if your one of them) but those people are like why have such and auch pin, the flow sucks, the rules suck, etc, etc. And i simply say, because i like it. Lots of collections dont have GnR, or sopranos, but i grew up with Gnr, and ive seen every episode of of sopranos ant least 5 times. My kids love avatar, so buying NIB and opeing it up with them was awesome and it was worth every penny just seeing there face.

I've been poking around on Rec.Games.Pinball and I HAVE noticed a few people who seem to think you need to spend $8K on each pin to have a worthy collection... Don't worry, I'll buy what I like :) I think it shows since I have a Spelunker in the place where my Zektor used to be ;) A buddy of mine here in MD has all the high end pins you could ever want so if I get the need to play one I know where to go!!

Really? Wow Chris I don't see that or pick up that color at all. The only high priced pissing matches usually revolve around Medievel Madness, Big Bang Bar, or Cactus Canyon (subject to others heh). Stern haters - let's not forget that crowd either! :)

BTW - if anyone cares I posted over at RGP about Avatar 2 & 3 movie release dates .

Well, there are those....and then the people who want their pins to be HEP or some kind of major restoration....so - that could make "regularly priced" pins into $8k pins. There are definitely people who have collections to "show" and not to play so much....but then again, the more pins you have, the less they will get played...that's just the nature of it. I have 14 set up in the house, but at any given time there are usually 2 or 3 I'm really jamming on. Right now I'm in an Elvis/LOTR/Iron Man phase ...but I still try to mix it up and play my other games. :)

First of all you can stop playing the other two pins and stick to LOTR ;)
I agree - I find myself ingoring my other pins. I feel bad - like they have feelings and I'm hurting them heh heh.
I believe there are a VERY small hand full of people who want HUO, CQ or HEP. It's too bad that ZF got that taste in his mouth. RGP's a great place (most of the time).

Hehe, I played RFM for the first time in a while...it must have been really excited for the attention cuz I had a pretty epic game and destroyed Mars! Wooo! I usually play my newest games the most. Elvis is the newest, followed by Iron Man ....I've had LOTR for a few years, but recently installed the shaker which makes it seem new again! :) If Avatar shows up tomorrow, my other games will have to sit in the corner and cry. :)

Yup some people think that but usually they aren't the ones that play their games. It just so happens that a lot of the expensive games I like. Not because they are expensive but how they play, their art and sound package, etc.

Some people actually play their restored games :) I admit I am one of those that likes perfection but I play mine. They don't get restored and just sit there.
