seems like a good idea for you guys having public high score competitions

i have one payed 5 bucks for it at goodwill

This subject pops up once in a while but this is the first time I recall hearing someone say they have one of these. Is it original? I know at least a couple people have set some up but they weren't the real deal.

I remember playing them in the wild back in the day. I know for sure Dragons Lair had one and I'm thinking some of the other games did too.

Got any detailed pics?

They were sold separately and ops could put them on top of games to try and generate more interest in the games.
At the Playland Arcade during the Minnesota State Fair. The game(s) that had them were usually the new game and not doing well, so they hoped bystanders might gain interest if they saw someone playing it.

So did these just splice in to your existing RGB and sync wiring? As in, running both original and external monitor off of the same wiring? Or was there an Amp in between to boost the signal? Just curious....

See if you can borrow a camera and get more pictures, if you have the time. This would quite possibly be the first example of someone finding one if it's the real deal.

I am certainly interested in one, or at least recreating the experience. I have a Dragons Lair that is pretty much centered with the room, and would love to put a working monitor on top - Just as i remembered it.

Being around 8 or 9 back then, and the crowds around that machine, the only way i could appreciate it was off that second monitor.

Any ideas on how i can get one wired in? Anything for sale out there?

The original one posted looks sweet - would also like to understand more about how it works. I read somewhere that it needed to be spliced in / there was no kit to include it.
