Austin Powers pinball - Time Machine magnet "eating" balls

Hi folks,

The arcade where I work has an Austin Powers pinball that has been acting up lately.

I've been finding the balls (sometimes all of them) behind the Time Machine - down by the pulley for the component. I have to squeeze my magnet retrieval tool in there and get the balls each time this happens.

I'm able to recreate this during games and manually, usually by rapidly firing balls up the Time Machine ramp and getting one immediately after another.

I'm fairly certain that the magnet is firing while a ball is going through the tube to be dropped in the back - but I don't know WHY or how to fix it.

Does anybody have any experience with this issue on the machine and how to fix it?

I suppose that I could put something in the way to block the area - but that isn't fixing the issue.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
