FS Game: auction: Stargate Cabaret, Working..

IF that is the original paint that game is in fabulous condition. The only thing that seems to be possibly missing is the Williams sticker that was placed on the inside right side of the game. Mine still has it, albeit kind of haggard looking but complete.

I am also not sure if the lock is original. It looks to be a later lock.

Yes I am nit picking but for that kind of money the little things do count. More and more I think these rare games could fetch this kind of money to the right collectors provided they are still in their original condition.

If you get anywhere near what you are asking for this I am selling mine.

I see the bottom of the game is black. Was there wood damage? Good luck with your sale. I would think it is probably worth about 1/2 of what your asking. With the bottom touched up it could be worth $800-$1000 if everything is original and working.

Any idea why the top and bottom of the side art are black? Every other one I've ever seen has the art covering the entire side such as this one:

Yeah, I guess for $1800 one can get a bit nit picky. I'm guessing the stencil job had issues of some kind, no idea why all that black is on the top and bottom. Even though I built my Stargate mini from a gutted Bubbles and it is not all original, I would never sell it, well everyone has their price I guess...

Didn't Williams do some fairly knarly paint touch-ups on the sides on Robotron minis at the factory?

I remember seeing a post with pics where there was one NIB with touch ups. My Robotron has a few on it that look factory as the paint used looks like an exact match witch is very hard to do on a Robotron.

i have no clue on the black paint. it was like that when i bought it.
its identical on both sides as u can see...top and bottom...

my other one does not have the black thow...
its buy it now or best offer, not "for sale at $1800" :)
and...epay and payp*l do rape for fees.

idk with 200 (ish) being made and 31 yrs old...how many fully complete working ones are out there?
i have 2 of them.
how many on here have them?
the one on epay is pretty clean inside, look at the transformer..boards and connectors same way
no power supply burnt connectors.
its all original except for the new ac cord and buttons that were just installed..and i guess the coon door locks....

Black paint is not original so I am assuming there was some wood damage covered up. For that much I would think you may want to repaint the cab with a set of stencils from PROK, new t-moulding, wash it inside spotless, etc. NIB Robotron Mini's were not much more a couple of years ago and Stargate due to difficulty is a hard game to sell to the mass even though it smokes Defender for play etc. Also there is art to replace that burned CPO.

Good luck with the sale but you would be better with a hidden reserve as your price will scare off most buyers. If you can't sell it I still have the artwork archived I used to build mine as I know the bezel and CPO were hard to obtain.

Here is my reproduction Stargate Mini project, only the marquee is original as it started out as a Make Trax Mini. Mine runs a JROK board.

"buy it now or best offer."

m not sure if some people are missing that or dont understand it.
price is not set in stone at $1800
if someone has bidding at $1 and a reserve at $1800, that is a different story.
that means it must hit $1800 to sell.

you have to start somewhere with BIN....
there is no near past history of what the average selling price for a stargate mini on here, elsewhere on groups, c list or epay.
so who honestly knows the average?
with a low production game made 31 years ago, and with the facts above, can anyone really assess a norm value that is constant?
how many actually sell a year, one maybe?
there just isnt enough data.
besides all of that jargon...

the bottom line is, most people who rant arent even interested in buying or end up buying.
they just want to create probs.
most people who buy are the quiet ones who dont post or respond public.
seriously, if you dont agree when someone posts something for sale/auction, its not nice to step on peoples post and knock games down with your opinion.
price police arent needed and its really uncalled for.
the ironic thing is, when these same people have something to sell and post online, suddenly, that same game is worth gold if they are the seller.

I had one for sale/trade within the last year that was much, much nicer. NOS marquee, NOS CP, new buttons, and was re-stenciled. I was only asking about 1/3 of that price then decided to make it a trade only. I had a difficult time due to location and the local market even though it is a neat little game.

People are trying to educate you on what to expect for price range. You stated you are unsure of value. Also I am trying to ensure if you need art etc. I am willing to help you out to bring it to near mint condition so you can get top dollar. Yes your price is too high as that is double what a restored machine has gone for in the past $1800 is not going to happen and you are not posting what you really want. Scott C. just sold one for the $800 range here on KLOV. Don't take it personal and I hope you get as much as possible for it. It is an awesome game.

I bought one off of DJW90, i had no idea at the time these where rare. Very cool little machine. Defender was my 1st game and i always wanted a Stargate, i deconverted a full size upright a few years ago but sold it to Portent

I'll be keeping my Stargate mini though, right beside my Robo min.

I have the same setup Robo Mini and Stargate Mini side by side and neither are FS. Due to space Sinistar Mini was pulled for storage. I consider the 2 my fav Williams games of all time. Again don't take it personal.
