My buddy, Ringwar and I headed up to the U.P. this morning for an auction of an estate sale. All the games were untested and we assume they all have issues, but we think we did pretty well. The 2 gems we scored were a beautiful Joust (cabinet an easy 9/10), which had a sticky on it that said "RAM error". All the boards and monitor look to be in good shape and all have matching numbers. I paid $170.00 for it. Ringwar scored a gorgeous PUNCH-OUT with dual monitors that also had nearly $40.00 in quarters in the bottom of the cabinet. He paid $50.00 for it.

We also got a decent Centipede (and an extra set of boards and power supply) and a Stargate in a painted over Joust cabinet for $50.00 each. The Super Pac-Man caberats we got for $15.00 a piece (one is likely for parts). Ringwar also got a chicken egg game for his kids and a beautiful little Mega touchscreen game as well. Overall, we had a great time and got some good deals.

Definitely a fun auction. Just wish they would have auctioned the games towards the beginning of the auction, and the parking situation wasn't so bad. Wish we could have hauled more for parts.

Congrats ! Great Score ! I wonder why somebody would have put a star gate in a joust cab.

A couple more pictures

A couple picts a little closer

We don't have a clue. It's painted black, and it was dark in the storage unit so we didn't get a good look at the cabinet until we got it home. We noticed in the top corner is a little brown showing thru and there's yellow in a spot that looks like an ostrich from Joust. I guess we'll find out for sure when we strip the old paint off.

Congratz, had a failure of a auction today. Advertise and verbally told arcade machines (garage full!), was shit redemption claw and bouncy ball machines in a 8x8 storage. Even told the lady want monitor and joystick with buttons. Rant over.

Dam, I would've been pissed too. False advertising there. This auction had posted pictures of most of the games, so we had an idea what was there ahead of time.

Yeah, we had my f-150 packed and the trailer I borrowed from a friend was packed like cordwood. If it wasn't a 5 hour roundtrip, we could've picked up a couple dozen rather beatup, low end games for cheap, but we would've needed a semi to haul them all in.

Cool score! Pretty sure those Super pac mini's are pretty rare. Might want to restore both of them if possible. If not going to restore them both, I am sure there would be a few people that would take one off your hands to do it up!

Man, you got a really good haul. All great games, and all for great prices. I rarely see a haul like that, where every game is quality (EVEN THE EGG MACHINE!)

What is going on with the Super Pac cabarets? I haven't seen any in person but looking at the pic, they don't seem to be the same cabinet. The dimensions of the marquee, bezel and control panel seem to differ slightly from one to another. Is one a conversion or was there use of leftover cabinets during Super Pac production?

They are exactly the same. Just depth perception, 1 cab is sitting back further in the garage than the other.

It's ok, we brought a really small trailer with us and trying to get all the machines to fit like Tetris wasn't fun. I bet we looked like 2 monkies humping a big heavy football.

Both super pacs need a little cab work wood grain is peeling at the edges. I might just end up doing a Super Pac paint job on the one i am keeping. The second one will probably get offered on here when i'm ready to get rid of it, but i live 5 hours north of Detroit, so it's a long drive for most collectors.

Nice, a gorgeous Punch Out for $10. :)

You probably got that Joust for half of what it's worth or less.

Nice score.

Yeah we actually counted the quarters today. $70.50. Punchout plays blind so i get to rebuild 2 Sanyo 20EZ's..... Got the Megatouch working just a dirty connector. Centipede is dead. Super Pac is dead. Have to rebuild the monitor and power supply in Joust. Projects, Projects, Projects......

We went out today and picked all the quarters out of it. We were a bit low in our estimate. It had $70.50 in quarters laying in the bottom of the cabinet. So I guess we made out like thieves on that one.

The Joust I am thrilled with. Hopefully it just needs a monitor rebuild and replace some RAM and it'll be one of the nicest games in my collection.

Epic haul. I thought I made a few goods ones lately, but you guy won hands down. The price is awesome without the bonus qaurters.

We are actually using the money found in the machines to order parts needed from Bob Roberts. Should pay for all the stuff including shipping.
