Auction in Warren Ohio

I heard the last one was pretty good. 2 days after it, a bunch appeared on Ebay in Ohio. Auctions seem to be some luck and timing.

Nice to get a heads up BEFORE the event. It is really close to me :( I didn't know about it till Flex told me.. he is in PA,lol.

This is the first i heard of it also. most likely i would have gone :(

Thats the place. Went there today to help a friend pick up his Crazy Taxi.

Lots of stuff not picked up as of 9:30 this morning. BUnch of stuff not sold too.

I walked around for a bit in there, and found NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING I would want to bring home. Shooters, some driving stuff left not sold, and redemption shit. Candy cranes, crap like that. Now they did have 4 or 5 old EM Bingo pins there. Problem was someone added flipers on them...they didn't come with them originaly.

Nice shape except for the flipper add ons. $50 each is what they went for. I would have passed on them myself. Mostly newer stuff, damaged cabs chunks out of corners.....

They are going to do this again in the spring of 2010, but unless they get some killer pieces in besides a damaged Galaga/Pac combo, it's not going to be worth it. I've thrown out better shit than that.

i went and picked up 3 games. radioflyer already said the 1st game i got which was a crazy taxi for the wife. works great but has a few small cosmetic issue's. not gonna complain for the price i got it for.....well except to say they are 1 heavy sumbiches!!!!!

anyway, also picked up a short thing radioflyer called a waching machine. it works and has a 29" monitor that works so i'm happy with it. also picked up a gottlieb deadly weapon pin. decent shape and fully workin. will put up pics tomorrow.

as for the auction. there were some deals to be had if you lookin for the newer stuff. alot of racing stuff..... a bunch of side by side sega gt's, crusin world's, off road thunder, sanfran rush 2049....and so on. bunch of area 51's, site 4's and maximum force's. almost all we're dedicated.......... prettymuch most of it was driver,s shooters and redemption crap.

I'm a bit picky about what I get, and after a full walk through, just wasn't impressed.

They had a TON of the redemption stuff, and cranes, gumball stuff. Saw a Baywatch pin that was marked untested, and a Roadshow towards the back that had potential, but too much vending, and redemption stuff.

The machines I saw today were mostly newer pieces, and rather beat looking.
Then again, thats why they are being auctioned off. Not profitable, and not in the best of shape. If they were, some of those prices would be a hell of a lot higher than the list you posted.

If you are looking for a driver, or a shooter that needs a little work, and really like the vending/redemption stuff, this wouldn't so bad, I guess.

Like I said, not impressed. Not my kind of machines.

To each their own I guess.

Oh yea, that Crazy Taxi....sheesh! That thing was HUGE! Looked a lot smaller in the warehouse. That pin Nuckinfutz got...nice pin Very clean. Looks really nice in my garage too I must say!

Had i been there, I would have been all over a few games listed, that crazy taxi for sure, the off road driver, that police trainer for $125(even though i have one friends would have wanted that one)

The kids would have liked that wave runner...
and the photo both, we had a few over the years.

how about that start trek, did the monitor work???

You do understand that most people come with trucks and trailers and leave with what they bought?
Your "walk through" (according to you) was leftovers that didn't sell and non-picked up items.

Some prices

I was there. among other items I bought

Star Wars Trilogy Arcade sitdown (monitor non-working) $125
Blade of Honor $200
Time Crisis 2 (1 player) working $350
Area 51 Maximum Force (no sound) $200

The auction adds a 12% premium to all above prices.

These are overstock for Namco from their warehouse. Stuff with problems, stuff they have too many of etc. Unfortunately, generally nothing before 1997.

The star trek voyager was fully working, I think. It had a nice looking cab. Sold for $350 I think.

I walked through with one of the guys who was working there. Went through two asiles with him, and Nuckinfutz's daughter in tow. Told me flat out most of the games that were there are sold, but look at the tags...some have a "P" on them, or "PASS" written on them.

Those did not sell, and ones with numbers or lettered did. Was then told if there was something with pass or p on it, they might be able to get the person on the phone for me, or the lot owner. Thanked him, and went on.

Now didn't see anything that tripped my trigger really, except for those bingo pins. Talking to the other guy up front about them, I was told they went for $50 each. Hey, I would have bought one for that I mentioned, but the other guy with him told me no, no. That was yesterdays price. They are $150 now. Ouch! Nice markup. Mulled that over outside for a bit, and decided to pass.

Now, being that I am NOT stupid, I do realize that machines were picked up after the auction. I've been there before like I had previously mentioned, and I do know how it works....However, a lot weren't.

Saw several pins in the back..Roadshow, Rescue 911, Baywatch, Elvira...they were still there, but did get auctioned off. A few more there too. Baywatch had a tag on it marked untested. Now, I didn't take inventory....just made a note to myself a lot were still there. Sold and unsold.

Nuckinfutz's kiddo wanted, well, all of them! She's a good kid. Doesn't seem to like the driving stuff, or the pins too much though when we saw them.

I decided to skip this auction because of the last time I went..wasn't impressed then. Same still goes for me. Just helping a friend pick up a machine...a big un!

Now, I'm not giving you any shit, but it's just not my kind of auction. You might like it, heck, you might work there...don't know you to make that assessment. To each their own. I just wouldn't have paid some of the prices I was told for what there was there, and being in the shape they were in.

IF I went again, it would be as a spectator and to hang out with some of the guys from the boards here.....thats about it....well, unless a super sweet Daytona side by side showed up.

Just my take on it all, so don't get too bent with me.

No....... I'm not bent at all.
Just seemed weird that a lot of people have been going there and getting good games at very good prices in direct contrast to what you posted.
From the list I can see four or five that I would have bought.

Your quote:

"They are going to do this again in the spring of 2010, but unless they get some killer pieces in besides a damaged Galaga/Pac combo, it's not going to be worth it. I've thrown out better shit than that."

.........might turn a lot of people away from going and is not true.

Was just stating a different view from yours so people can decide if it is worth going or not to the next one.

No, I don't work for them or anything to do with arcades(work wise) for that matter.
So nope, no offense taken and hopefully none given.
