Auction games sales, Kingsport, TN - Who went?

I did. Classics were sparse this time. Items of note were a fully working Baby Pac, Moon Patrol, Asteroids, Centipede Cabaret, Ms Pac cabaret, Vanguard and a defender. I expect better in Nov. Driving games went cheap. Pins went reasonable with the exception of a few. Most notably was a long time on location Monster Bash that went for 4K. While it looked good, and played well for the most part, the wear on the kick out hole indicated it was ragged out from play. There was another pin that went for 3K but the title escapes me at the moment. Twilight Zone went 2500 IIRC. Other than that most were reasonable. 3 South Parks went 1100 to 1300ish. Two Red and Ted Road shows went around 1100 and one was very nice. Getaway went for 1kish. Couple of Congos were about 1K. A whitewater went 2Kish. Honestly, the most interesting thing that I saw pinwise was a Nip It that was working well. Went around 650. My friend got the best piece at the show IMO. He picked up a Deluxe Afterburner Climax for 2500. He also picked up a couple 50" Daytona's. All in all a decent auction, but nothing I just had to have. Maybe next time.

I posted in the original thread in the correct forum about some of the stuff. Twilight Zone actually hit over 3000. Monster Bash at 4000 is still a steal no matter what way you look at it....you could flip it as is for more....

There were MORE pieces at this auction than I have ever seen and more people I have ever seen at the auction...lots of pins...

I ended up with Getaway....I wanted Whitewater but 1900 and needed a new display and shopout AND playfield was WARPING???????? no chance

When was he planning on picking up the Afterburner? I was one of the last ones to leave around 11 today and it was still sitting there.

Maybe, but I wouldn't call it a deal for the auction. My friend sold one he accidently bought off his friend at the Winston Salem auction trying to bid it up for him. IIRC he got 3300-3500 for it and it was damn minty. That was within the last year or so. Its only flaws were some decal cracking around the legs. It had nowhere near the wear this one did. But I am sure some giblet head would pay 5K for the one at this auction on EBAY.

Pinball auction result prices Kingsport 8-13-2011

This was a fairly large auction for Kingsport and there were more classic games than the last auction that was here back in May. There was still not that many but more than last time. I heard a few of the auctioneers talking and said there was more than 1000 pieces total at this auction. This includes all the junk they sell at the beginning of the auction too. I was going to bid on asteroids, defender, moon patrol and centipede cabaret but the prices went too high for me. IMO the baby pac man there went for a high price considering the PF was worn to the wood. I heard it was a buy back anyway but I don't know for sure. There was one nice condition ms. pac man there I did bid on but it ended up going too high for me. I did pick up the ms. pac cabaret that was there and 5 other games.

I wrote down the prices for all the pinball machines that were auctioned there, was doing this for a friend. I did not come to buy any pinballs. I'm not sure if this has been posted anywhere else or not but here is what the pins went for. There were over 50 pinball machines at this auction. Compared to the winston-salem auctions there are normally twice the number of pins in kingsport.

I know most here will already know this but for someone new that has not been to this auction before and may be considering going here are the fees you must add to the total dollar amount you spend if you are not a business and do not have an EIN.

Paying with cash add 19.75%
Paying with a credit card add 22.75%

Damn for those prices I would have picked up the Road Show (my favorite) and maybe the South Park...well not with the added 20% of course but at those prices definitely.

370 miles to get home then it's time to start unloading:

Damn, that's a lot of shrink wrap, did you have to drive thru a typhoon :)

I put 4 mil plastic on first and then shrinkwrap them.

It takes a couple of extra hours to do it. But when you've invested in the gas for 740 miles, 2 nights of a hotel room, and almost 12 hours at the auction (testing, bidding, and paying), it's better to be safe than sorry.

I have no idea. He lives in VA and I live about 2 hours away from him and an hour from the auction. I was at home recuperating. My guess is that is indentured man servant..,er, I mean idiot brother in law was drag assing around since he didn't want to move it. Was the 2 Daytona's still there. He may have had to make multiple trips.
