Auction Game Sales Harrisburg PA 3/27 Who's going??

Alright, So how much money on average will I lose trying sell two or three games? I cannot make it Friday. I have three games I would like to move. Does the parking lot deal work for this one? I live about 10 minutes (expressway) from the farm show. If someone wants one of my Universal Cosmic Aliens, I would be more than happy to bring them. 1 Upright fully functioning and nice!, 1 cocktail same condition, and 1 upright that is complete but the monitor stopped working.. I plan on attending Saturday anyway just to see how these go.

I don't know if there is going to be a buy it now section at this auction.

The $100 deposit is refundable if you don't buy anything. This gets you the bidder card. It is a good system... it disallows flakes from coming in, bidding on something, and then leaving.

I mean, really, it's only $100. You're going to spend thayt if you buy something.

What I don't understand with the $100 deposit rule that they have is sometimes they tell you that you must turn in your card at the end to get your $100 back and sometimes they say you don't. Or my personal favorite, they tell you that you need to at the start of the auction and at the end and after waiting in the line for what seems like hours you get told that you didn't need to wait because you didn't buy anything.

Hm...this will be my first auction. I pay 100 dollars to get a bidding card. If I don't buy anything, I get the money back? If I do buy something, do I still get my money back? Confusedddd!

I think the bidder card costs $110.00, and you get $100 back if you don't buy anything.

There is a $10 non refundable registration fee....+13% buyers premium.....+6% PA Sales Tax.

Which games are you bringing?

Probably These:

Satan's Hollow - Working - Decent Shape
Pepper 2 - Dead - Decent Shape
Crater Raider - Working - Decent Shape
Maybe Bosconian - Working - Decent Shape
Maybe Super Punch Out - Working - MINT

That is if I don't get up the time and energy to put them on ebay....

Anyone want a Killer Instinct 2? Working, re-capped monitor, compact flash kit, new buttons, joysticks, new plexi over cp....

Buyers premiums and f*cking PA sales tax kill these auctions for me most times...so hard to get any good deals unless you work a pickup from someone for deals prior to auction to avoid all that shit...to me its money thrown away..not to mention the people who don't know what shit is worth and bid up even the low end stuff sometimes...

Its often a crap shoot anyway at these things..been to some good ones..and some really shitty ones...:D

I know if I go, there won't be anything good....and if I don't go....they will be selling sit-down drivers for $40 a pair....

That is always the case....:D The shit that always go cheap is the stuff I never want...and the stuff I want always gets bid up... with a few exceptions..I did pick up a nice williams joust cab to be used for multi williams for like 10 bucks....and a box of nos flybacks for various monitors for a like 10 bucks too..

I like newer stuff, and sit-down twin racing games, Daytona, etc etc...

My grail is a Ferrari F355 Challenge, the one with >9000 monitors....

I'd shit brix if they had one.

Well A friend of mine just told me that he called them and they said since it will be their first time at that location they will not have a BIN section. They want to see what type of crowd they get and that will determine if they have BIN next time around. I guess that means that I am not going as I don't want to become a victim of the shill bidding wars.

If you don't want to be a victim set a price you want to pay and stick to it :)

yea i was planning on going to this too, but im pretty confused about the whole $100.00 deposit thing as well. If you dont buy something u get it back. But what if you do buy something?? does that $100.00 go towards the purchase price or does the auction place keep it?

The $100 is just a deposit. It gets put towards your purchases if you buy something. It's just their way of ensuring you came with some cash of some sort and your not going to bid, then roll out after you decide you don't want it anymore. Shill bidding will stop once no one buys anything, so your best bet is to make sure you can stay if there is something you want.

I haven't been to many arcade auctions, but I've been to hundreds of other auctions in my life and they're all the same. People have money and spend it all up front and the auctioneer works to get the highest price possible. Once they see that no one's biting, they come back to reality and get what they can. I'm sure if you looked at the sales, the most prices are paid at the beginning with the deals at the end. May not be this way 100% of the time, but it's usually the case.
