Addams Family #3 3100 (considering wear, the best pin by far, very little wear on the kick out hole, but had black legs instead of chrome, probably needed new leg plates as it was wobbly as all hell, and they had put the back legs on the front and the front legs on the back and it seemed like it sat 6 inches taller than it should, worse yet it had the dreaded magnet burn on the playfield killing the collector value as it was pretty brown, critically speaking, it should have went 2700 or 2800

Now for the stories,

If you notice the many cocktail tables that was listed NW for non working, one of which was mine, a Millipede, here's the skinny. Apparently, one of the auction workers plugged there power strip into either a 220 or 250 volt plug and basically blew out about 5-7 cocktail tables. To say the least, I was thoroughly pissed off to no living end. Luckily a friend of mine who had played the game the night before, talked his friend into buying it at what I had to have out of it for one of their other friends who loved Millipede. So it was heading for a good home, and I got my 300 out of it. The game would still play, but they had either popped a monitor fuse or killed something on the monitor. But it worked out. It was just really annoying.

I almost won that Funhouse, but couldn't bring myself to going over 1500 for a pin that was dead as a hammer and locked up tight so you couldn't see what was there.

As for the Addams Families, the pricing made no sense whatsoever, the best playing one went the cheapest and the the roughest looking one, but actually the best condition for having one to play went in the middle, and the absolute worst condition one brought 3300. Maybe I don't know shit about pinballs cause I just don't get it.

The TOM probably brought the best price for the day considering the getto repair job done to the playfield. The game looked good. Don't get me wrong, but someone had put 4 drywall screws on the playfield beside the ramp and had a couple bumpers rings on them. I'm sure it could be repaired, but not a good repair.

Indy was faded badly as usual, but I just don't see a pin that common bringing 3600 at auction.

I did get to meet a few Klovers. Got to meet mcadrewsoun and disjaukifa and even met a couple of female KLOV collectors. All in all a lot of pieces, and a lot of people bidding. If not for them blowing up my game, it would have been an awesome day......Ah Hell, it was still pretty awesome. :)

Ah, you must have been the guy standing beside me at one point. I was there when somebody brought a ladder over and I figured you were recording all the pin prices.

Just an FYI on the nice Asteroids. The bottom was severly water damaged and the bottom left side was missing chunks of wood. I noticed that when I was wrapping some of my games up after the auction was over.

And the Missile Command was missing a lot of side art.

Wow! Way better selection and prices than we have been getting on the Dallas (Mesquite) auctions in quite a while!

I might have to drive to Kingsport just to get some deals.

As for the selection, it was a particularly good auction as far as the number. I have seen more at other auctions, but that auction was nuts and very few actual games most collectors would want. I chock it up to operators wanting to unload before long summer hits. The next one may be better or it may be worse depending if they are still unloading. It will be in may, but it may be a bunch of junk. Alot of smaller ops buy back in fall. Less storage, and many people aren't playing games in Summer. Their out doing outdoor things. But again, this auction was probably an anomaly compared to normal. Last auction had only 16 or 17 pins and 3 or 4 were water damaged. And like someone pointed out. Many of the games were in less than stellar conditions. Restorable, but in rough shape.

That lot of parts on the junk row only went for $50, to bad the size of the line , if it were shorter and if i had the box trunk i would have got it

Well, that's because it was actually 'a lot of junk on the parts row'. I'm surprised it sold actually.

I'm guessing you are referring to the two pallets of junk at the end of the auction and not something else that I may have missed.

I would agree. There were LOTS of games, but once you really looked close, not too much to get way excited about. I'm thinking there must have been a good number of first time buyers to have some of the prices go so crazy high. Or maybe it was just "auction fever" taking over. :)

Hahah you can see me playing the Tron pinball in that photo!!

Probably meet a few of you guys, I think I spoke disjaukifa before the auction started. We talked about some of the games right when you walked in. Most of the classics were right there. Man those pins were some beaters! Very disappointed on most of the prices. Bid on afew items but was quickly outbidded. Did pass on some good karma to a dad with new gameroom. Gave him some newb tips, mr pinball, klov of course, and rgp. He ended getting some of better deals of the day. Shaq attack, not my fav but a really good deal based on condition. I probably won't return anytime soon, too far and I've finally realized not thecheapest place to find a good quality pin. I'll post some pics, they had a few obscure machines there.

i was there!

sold a pack of 2 60-n-1s and my offroad challenge...

OR COULD have done better, but the auctions soundsystem got unplugged, and took about 10 minutes to get it plugged back in...the crowd walked away, over to the pinball's, and i had 6 people on my machine once the auction started back.

heard a guy say he'd go $500 on it, but he got it for 375...

yea i was right there when the cocktails got shot... wish i could have met some of you guys!

heck, i may have met you and not known it... i had a notepad writing down ALL the prices

I guess that was your Off Road where the original 39" monitor had been replaced with a 25" monitor? And had the typed up letter on it saying that it was a big earner on location?

My wife and I got a big kick out of that

i had to sell it up a bit ;)

yeah the 33" was bad, and i had the 27 from a exotica, so i made a bezel, and mounted the 27 in it.

however, the addon per quarter $$$ is true!

i spent a ton playing this game years ago, it would take $3 or $4 to max out your truck :)

all the high scores can only be attained by running a maxed out truck in that game..

i hated to see it go, but i bought a pinball cab to build a hyperpin cab.

I cant believe that tron went for only $500,
I ended up getting a Area 51 Site 4 for less than $200 (only problem was dead guns)
A Centipede missing the harness, board, and marquee
and a small snake machine for $5

And that was a fucked up deal about that power deal, and Ill tell you why. A friend of mine took 9 games up and had to buy 5 of them back non working. A couple hours before the auction started one of the employees plugged a power strip into the 220 and smoked 5 upright games. That damn plug should have been fixed/removed/taped/whatever right then. My friend lost 2 of his games right then. sometime later another employee (same, different, I dont know) plugged that strip of cocktails into the same plug, costing him another 3 games

Wish i couldve actually met you guys...

i bought the bride, paid more than i planned!, but it does work! ill get a donor head and replace the playfield , cab is pretty solid, it looked worse than it is

auction

i'm working on games right now to take to the winston salem auction. I'll be taking a star trek pinbal(70s) gorf,zaxxon,assault,crossbow,1943,tutankhem, and a couple more I cant think of. Hope the prices stay up!!!!!

There is no way anybody plugged a 110 volt power strip into a 220 outlet. That just didn't happen.

Now, he may have plugged the cocktails into a faulty 110 power strip and something burned up

And if your buddy was the one that brought the Joust that burned up I met him. The guy said he was from Florida anyway. I think the flyback blew on his monitor and started smoking but he claimed it was the transformer. I couldn't say as I never looked in the back of the game
