Auction 5/15/10: Kingsport, TN - Single thread. Those going and prices for items sold

I can't make the Kingsport, TN auction this weekend and thought I'd start a single thread.

People can say who is going to coordinate breakfast, meetings, etc... and send back pics/prices of items.

Good luck and happy shopping...

I will be there. I hope to drive up for the preview friday night and then again saturday for the auction itself. I will probably be wearing this T-Shirt:

In case someone wants to introduce yourself. I always like to meet fellow klovers.

As for the prices, they vary as does the content. But I look for it to be a busy auction. Last one before the summer season so prices should be up. And lots of people probably unloading machines. Anyways, I look forward to seeing some of you guys and hope to see some of the familiar faces I have in the past.

I would have like to have gone, but being from Alabama (even NORTH Alabama), the drive appears to be even WORSE than going up to the Smoky Mountains. That's quite a haul to take without any idea how the sale will turn out. Besides, I didn't have a trailer lined up to borrow for the trip...

Just got back... Picked up a nice Stargate and a Gyruss project.... Some prices were high while some were right on. They sold one machine that just made me sick it went so low and that I had no room on the truck for it...................A Sinistar cockpit for $175.00.......
I will post pictures later!!!!!!!!!

Wow a sinistar cockpit under a grand??? $175.00 is unbelievable.

Wish I would have gone... thanks for taking pics and can't wait to see them

You guys in TN are so lucky!! I see that you have multiple game auctions over the course of a year. We get no love over here, once a year if were lucky

I watched a lot of items sell. Me and a friend discussed it and one of us thought the prices were up and the other thought the prices were down. Can't recall which one I thought at the moment. Either way, their was a few interesting pieces. My friend was selling a Stargate, Multi williams, frogger (i think), multi game cocktail, and maybe a couple others. I think he bought back his multi williams and maybe his cocktail as he already had better offers on them. I picked up 2 HS-5 cabinets for 150 total after auction fees and taxes. One was a complete sharpshooter and the other was an empty cab with a good ps and light fixture in it. I may use it on one of my more worn cabs. I had hoped to buy a very nice looking HS-5 with a 2 slot neo geo in it, but somehow I got out bid on it. I thought I had 175 on it and apparently, someone else had the bid. There were also some decent pin deals to be had, but only about 30+ pins total so many were going at a premium. Another friend went after two of the best pieces of the day. He bid a Monster Bash up to about 3900 and a Spider Man up to over 3K(how far over I can't recall). Those were about the nicest pins I saw. I can't recall anything particularly stellar other than that. The Sinistar was the highlight of collectible classics there. While it was mostly dead, I had planned to put a bid of 50 on it. Luckily it went higher so I didn't have to mess with it. Or perhaps its better to say, I hope it went to a more enthusiastic collector who will give it a better home than I could have. Although, I think it went to a retail reseller who will either butcher it for parts or try to sell it for 2Gs after he gets it working. Either way, I had fun. I picked up enough things to keep me busy(and broke) till the next auction in August.
