Hey what you have it set on? I have 12 Arcades now, and they are all set to attract mode sound on. I want the arcade feel so thats why they are on, but I thinking its too busy. I want to see what you guys are doing that have 10+ arcade cabs.

I have maybe a couple with the attract mode on. I think I have Final Fight's attract mode on. Which can get to you after a while. 80's music is the background ambience I go with for parties. If I'm down there by myself, Wizard of Wor and Gyruss drive me nuts with the attract modes on; so those are off for good.

On.
I don't keep my games on a lot but when I do I want all of the sounds playing.:)

I used to enjoy a quiet gameroom, but the more games I got, the more I wanted attract sound, and it has become an addiction. Aside from what I can "normally" turn on, DK. & Jr. now have attract sound with the Braze kits. Tron also has attract sound since I did this mod:

I did end up turning off attract sound in Satans Hollow though because a sound kept getting "stuck". Looking to finish another game or two and then Ill be making an updated video of the gameroom, its pretty noisy now and I love it.

About 30 games, all off.

Repetitive noises drive me bonkers. I like the sound of the games being played rather than the same little sample over and over again.

yeah. that would drive my wife crazy. but, i don't have any games with attract mode sound. if i did, i'd probably leave it off. but this reminds me, i need to download the arcade ambience sounds to play in my game room.

If it has an attract mode, it's ON. I even went so far as to going here:

burning a cd and playing arcade ambience sounds through the stereo while I'm down there.

If the games have attract mode, they're always on in my game room. Not sure why you would want a quiet arcade myself. That actually reminds of my wife. Whenever we watch movies in the theatre, she secretly tries to turn off the subwoofer so that the bass is nearly non-existent. What's the point of having a home theatre then? If you don't like bright lights do you remove the marquee bulbs as well? I have noticed that some can get repetitive, but when they are all on at once, it is easy to tune the 1 or 2 annoying ones out.

You have to have them on. Back when I had 10 working I would turn them on while I would be working on stuff in the basement I loved having the arcade background noise

At the moment, all mine are off, but now I'm contemplating figuring out the DIP settings to turn them on...

I have the sounds on, for the ones that have the option. A couple times I have forgotten to power the games down and it's nice to have Spy Hunter give me a reminder when the house gets quiet.

I leave mine off, as I'm normally playing at night when the kids are sleeping, so I don't want the extra noise.

.. Gyruss drive me nuts with the attract modes on;...

Mine are mostly all ON, including Gyruss which can be really annoying. I use Mala as my front end for MAME and it plays the attract mode videos as a screensaver when that box is idle. Much better than the arcade ambiance sounds IMHO, and a great way to discover "new" games to play.

Mine are all on, though I try to keep the volume down to a dull roar. As previously stated in this thread, they're a good indicator as to whether you've left a game on, and while the arcade ambience CD is nice, I think it's nicer to actually HAVE all the games on there and making noise.
