Just wanted to let ya know that I stopped in the new Pawn America superstore here in St. Cloud (the old "Media Play" building) yesterday and found this...

It is currently on "layaway" for some guy named "Miguel"... I asked the salesgal how long "Miguel" had to pay for it before it got returned to the sales floor. She said "3 months". She also told me it is in perfect working order. The price tags on the back of the game as well as underneath the layaway tag state that it is priced at "$349.99". I don't know anything about this game, but it is the "Street Fighter 2: CE Turbo Hyper Fighting" edition, according to the marquee. For those of you in the Central MN area (Phet?!?!), if you are looking for a "Street Fighter 2", it might be worth keeping an eye on in case "Miguel" gets cold-feet and decides he doesn't want it/can't pay for it or whatever. I've never played "Street Fighter", but at that price, and if it works as good as the sales gal claims, and if I had the space, I'd snap it up in a heartbeat if it became available again.

Just thought I'd give fellow MN collectors a "heads-up"!

You have never played Street Fighter WTF???

My arcade heyday was the "Golden Age" years, '78 - '83... I have played "Mortal Kombat" a bit on home consoles, but other than that, I don't have much "fighting" genre experience. I wouldn't mind having this game, though... I do enjoy the genre, and from everything I've read, "Street Fighter 2: CE" sounds like it would be ALOT of fun.

Thanks for the heads up man. If it were a Mortal Kombat II I'd be all over it and Miguel could suck the beans out of my flesh burrito. As it is, I have little interest in Street Fighter, especially one in a Williams cab. That one does look to be a clean conversion though, and the paint actually looks even.

This is about 40 min from my house. According to Phet and other klovers I look Mexican (even though I am Italian). Maybe I will go in and pretend to not speak English, point to the game and pay. They would go for it.

probably. just make sure you stay in the sun to look a bit sweaty first, and go in wearing some of those alligator skin boots with the elf shoe toes. oh, and make sure you only pay in cash, preferably large denominations, and it should be yours. cause remember, you don't have a bank account.

edit, shit, i forgot. you may also need a big belt buckle and remember to have a mustache, even if it's a pretend one. of course, if your hair color isn't naturally black, the whole deal just went out the window. and if you don't have a flannel shirt to wear tucked in (with no tshirt under), make sure you wear a soccer jersey from a south american country. any one. doesn't matter.
