Hello everyone! Been trying to get on here for some time. I have read alot of posts from Ken Layton about dart machine repair. Please Ken if your there, write me.
I have an Arachnid 6300 with super spider I think, and need tech help. I need control panel help, lighting, and cabinet help. I have it in a million pieces right now.
If anyone has a good pic of one of these, please send it because this thing looks like it was put together wrong from day one.
Thank you....

Thank you but I have seen those. I have the Galaxy manual for the super spider but the 2 bolt holes don't line up right to assemble it. The manual says one is just below the "U" shaped cut-out (in the 8 oclock position) and the other bolt is in the 4th hole to the right of the top center position hole. They are supposed to be directly across eachother diagonally according to the manual. I took pics before I took it apart and the 2 bolts were at about 10 and 2 looking from the back. Maybe someone drilled a bunch of holes in the spider but it doesn't line up the way the galaxy manual says.
Then we have the remove darts and throw darts lights. I know ken said they are 2182D but I also need the sockets. I cant find them anywhere but I did find part# 2506796c1 bulbs with socket from an International truck dealer. They are dash bulbs and the specs look the same. Are they ok to use?

Thank you very much for the help. I have built a Mame machine but never have a project like this. I looks like it may have fallen out of an airplane...LOL

I know this is long...

Thank you for responding.
Having trouble with the CP lighting, target, and upper part of cabinet. It looks like there is a piece of wood missing. The manual says 6 bolts hold the top on but mine only has 4. It could use a decal or 2 also. No body makes them anymore. I could send pics.... let me know...
Again, thank you for reponding.
Vic

I think 27030 is the new number for the 2182D lamp with socket.

http://www.happcontrols.com/amusement/darts_foos/11413.htm

Arachnid parts can be purchased from the parts department of any Arachnid distributor. Whenever we needed those 2182's with sockets, we just telephoned our distributor and said, " I want a bag of 100 of the 2182D lamps with sockets for an English Mark Dart 6300". The next day the order would show up on UPS. Our distributor, Mountain Coin, is in Seattle. They have several offices.

Decals can be found on ebay:

Aggressive information seeker is aggressive. :D

Ken is a God at this stuff, and kudos to him for helping ya. ;)

Yeah, these guys aren't bound by law to help us, and a little appreciation goes a long way.

Thank you with the bulb info. I saw those decals on ebay also but mine looks different. Coin door in center and no league slot.
Can you tell me detailed instructions on the dart interface? I don't understand why the holes the manual says to use (8 and 2 o'clock from the back) don't line up and mine were in 10 and 2 position. I did work but I had to loosen the 4 nuts that hold the whole thing on. The tag on the matrix says 3469342. There is some wood missing and not sure why or what it is suppose to look like. I also need a speaker. The amp is 8 watts but the old speaker said 3 watts on it. I dont know what spec I should get. The manual also speaks of a "hardware manual" 37-0134 and I think that would be helpful to have for ID of whats missing. I will try to post a pic or 2 that I have of what it looked like when I got it. I got it from a bars garbage.
Thank you

The pic of the back inside shows the missing wood. Just look at the sides for no paint.
Again, thanks

Ah, now we're getting somewhere. Your particular machine is NOT a dedicated 6000 series (6000/6100/6200/6300).

It's a conversion kit of an old 5000 series converted into a 6000 series using this official Arachnid conversion kit:

http://home.comcast.net/~mtpacifico...id 5000 to 6000 Coversion Kit Sales Flyer.pdf

This group of service bulletins details the conversion of 5000 series cabinets into 6000 series machines (you want to see pages 6 through 11):

http://www.leagueleader.net/bullshooter/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/6000-Series-Bulletins.pdf

Original 5000 series cabinet:

http://www.leagueleader.net/bullshooter/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/5000-Series-Game-Ownes-Manual.pdf

Arachnid 6000/6100/6200/6300 series manuals:

Super spider info:

http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Darts/Arachnid/Arachnid_Service_Tip_Super Spider_(8-16-1993).pdf

6000 to 6300 update kit:

http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Darts/Arachnid/Arachnid_6000_to_6300_Kit.pdf

Coin/credit board:

http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Darts/Arachnid/6200_6300_Changeable_Coin_Credit_Option.pdf

Power supply schematic:

http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Darts/Arachnid/Arachnid_6000_Series_PS.pdf

The 6000 series used an 8 ohm, 4 inch full range speaker. Yours had one rated at 3 watts because that's what the original 5000 series cabinet had. The 6000 series went to a speaker rated at 10 watts.

Here is an excellent replacement speaker that will work for you plus it has plenty of "headroom" to it:

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/55-1856

It's on sale until November 30th for just $8.99 if you use the "Source Code" (promotion) number of 20C16 at time of checkout at their website.

Holy Cow!!!
You could tell all that from a few pics?
This is even before a super 6?
I sounds like you said this thing has been upgraded about 3 times. The rom chip says 11/4/93 v3.2 and the screen says 1987,1988,1990. There is a sticker over the mainboard P/N, i did not write that down.
That speaker has plenty of headroom. What about the control panel light bulbs? Maybe I could send a close-up pic of the main board?
I really like the light thats on top in one of the pics from one of the sites you sent me. This machine has decals and warning arrows pointing to the top and holes but a regular top panel is on the top over those.
Thank you again........
Vic

Yes, yours is an old cabinet that was converted to the latest 6300 (Super Six Plus 2) series. The original 5000 series cabinet gets carved up in order to install the 6000 series electronics drawer.

The two pushbutton switches use # 658 miniature lamps with a wedge base. They are 12 volt bulbs. Do NOT any other number bulbs in those sockets as the lamp driver circuitry will be damaged.

The coin door lamps can also use #658, #194, or #161 miniature lamps. Take your pick, but I would suggest using 658.

This thread will also be of help to you:

I am grateful for you helping me. I know you are a ninja at these things.
The sticker on the main board says kit 3001. I think Chainsaw Charley upgraded this thing.
As far as the lighting, the 658 bulbs are a dime a dozen. I cant find a difference from a 194. They both seem a little large to fit in a micro-switch. I dont know why a 194 would kill the circuit board if the specs are the same. I am gonna be safe though. The coin door has 1893 bulbs in it I think, just by looking at them. Its the throw/remove dart lights that have me confused. You stated that the wrong button lights will fry the thing but what if I substitute a different bulb for the panel lights? I will look for the same specs but I want to see them before buying them.
Thank you again for all the help.
Vic

The 658 is a low current bulb. The 194 and 161 draw more current than a 658.

The pushbutton lights are 658. The remove/throw lights are 2182D.

so 2182d with socket it is.
I just have to find them. any ideas? I dont know of any arachnid dealers in my area.
Thank you.........
Vic
