Would owners of Exidy Targ and Spectar minis be so kind as to post pictures of the power blocks at the bottom/side of their respective mini cabinets. If the minis and uprights used the same power blocks, then pictures of those are fine. I have two power blocks that I am pretty sure are from these two games, but am not sure which is which. As I only need one for a restoration, the other will be available to a new home once I know. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Happy gaming.

My recollection is that the power supplies aren't mounted on the bottom at all. Post your photos and I can probably tell you what's what.

There are several pieces. My recollection is a stepdown transformer which feeds the universal PS board, a separate iso for the monitor, and an off the shelf PS for the +5 rail.

Watch this TNT vid. About 4min in you'll see the insides. There is nothing installed at the bottom ... the PSU is on the side of the cabinet.

Thanks for the thoughts, gentlemen.

Unfortunately, Todd replaced the original power block/supplies, so that video does not help.

On a side note, I wonder if one of those cabinets may not have originally been a Targ or Spectar or Exidy changed something along the way. My understanding is the speaker placement is different between those two mini cabinets. I'll dig-up my pictures.

Interesting question. I don't see any speaker on either flyer that shows the mini Targ:

Either the game on the flyer wasn't the final version that was shipped, or the location was changed between games. Hard to say without a dedicated Targ example to compare against.

I lean somewhat to it changing between the flyer and ship, because the flyer game looks like it might be a mockup. I don't know where else you could put a speaker that wouldn't show, and I don't see any seam where the CP meets the front panel.

Here are a few photos. They're shot through my coin door, but hopefully will show what you need. Added some explanatory captions.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks for the pictures. Is your game a Targ or Spectar mini? One of my two power units, pictured below, matches what you show in your pictures, except mine is missing the power connectors on the wiring (would you picture these, please) and the monitor ISO. The circuit board, step-down transfer, and Condor power supply are all present.

My other power supply (pictured in the next message) looks a bit different, which is why I am trying to determine which game it came in. Also, my caps are blue, while your caps are silver (no biggie, just noticed the difference).

I have a Spectar. Which part is missing the connector, so I can get the right thing? Looks like all the power stuff uses 2 and 3 position in-line .093" connectors.

This is my second power supply ("ADTECH POWER").

Yes, I see the note about "Toki" and "Spectre", but have no way to validate it, which is why we're discussing it now.

Okay, gotcha. This is a mess and writing up how it goes together in a useful way is going to take more time than I have right now. I'll try to get something together tonight.

Short story is that you're missing three connectors. I think one is line power, one is to run the marquee (tapped off the Condor transformer), the other feeds +5v into the harness. All .093" in-line connectors, a 2p for the marquee and 3p for the other positions.

Thanks for the info. My assumption is it may match the second Exidy power supply I have and shown, but confirming the wire colors would be nice.

Anyone have any idea on the second power supply? Definitely Exidy, but does it match any Targ or Spectar's out there?

Not sure what that's from. Is there a model number on the power supply? Legible part numbers on the bottlecaps? I'd expect with two bottlecaps, it has two outputs, but the connectors look mostly the same, so I'm not sure where it would be going.

More photos. Hope they're good enough. Long day for me.

Thanks for the additional pictures, ieure!

Taking a very close look at the two Exidy power blocks last night validated they appear to be equal and simply made with two different vendors (Condor and ADTECH POWER). Each has a total of nine (9) wires with different colors. Attached are pictures showing the two power blocks. The ADTECH POWER is pictured first (in this post) followed by the Condor (next post), with the new pin connectors.

Both transformers have pins 4 and 2 tied together, and 3 and 1 tied together (shown in the pictures). Both power supplies are pictured and show the 5v connections (+ and -). The red wires are the +5v rail for both power supplies, while the rest of the wire colors differ some as noted below.

*** Note: I am assuming pin 1 is closest to the point in the connector. ***

*** WIRING COLORS BASED ON THE CONDOR POWER BLOCK ***

3-pin connector (male pins)
---------------------------------------
Note: The pink wire is a mustard/brownish color on the ADTECH POWER, but wired and positioned the same.

Pin 1 - Black (from positions 4 and 2 on the transformer)
Pin 2 - White (from positions 3 and 1 on the transformer)
Pin 3 - Pink wire (-5v from power supply)

3-pin connector (female pins)
------------------------------------------
Note: The two pink wires are a mustard/brownish color on the ADTECH POWER, but wired and positioned the same.

Pin 1 - Red (from +5v from power supply)
Pin 2 - Red (from +5v from power supply)
Pin 3 - The two Pink wires tied together onto one pin (-5v from power supply)

2-pin connector (male pins)
---------------------------------------
Note: These wires are black and white on the ADTECH POWER, but wired and positioned the same.

Pin 1 - Gray (from positions 4 and 2 on the transformer)
Pin 2 - Brown (from positions 3 and 1 on the transformer)

This is the Condor power block and the transformer pin positions are 4, 2, 3, 1 from top to bottom as shown in the picture.

While I am still not sure which Exidy game the ADTECH POWER came from, at least we now know they match and presumably can be used in either TARG or Spectar. The pins, wiring, and colors mentioned above seem to match ieure's pictures. Thank you! Now to see what power supply came in TARGs and other Spectars.

As I don't have the monitor ISO, I will appreciate seeing more pictures of it, including it's connectors. Thanks.

I have a converted TARG cocktail table - are these rare. Honestly the game looked kind of boring to me (personally) so I never converted back, especially compared to what's in it.

Good luck on your search! As for technicals, my cabinet had the power supply and probably the harness (too) replaced. Cool cabinets!

I suck at taking pictures with my phone through the coin door... but here they are just in case you see ANYTHING helpful.

The first ones with the blue caps are from a Targ mini, the second set with the silver caps are a Spectar mini. I couldn't really get my head in there to see what I was doing and if there's something specific you want a better shot of, please let me know and I'll go back out there and try harder.

Thanks! There were several good pictures here and it further confirmed these two Exidy power blocks are from TARG and Spectar.

If you can get better pictures of the monitor ISO transformer and what it's connected to, as well as how, that will be very helpful. I am trying to determine what harness is supplying power to the monitor ISO, then how the ISO attaches to the harness, monitor, etc. I found an original Specter mini 13" monitor. [emoji2]

Thank you to everyone for your assistance. Hopefully, this will be of assistance to others.
