Attention: Gravity Hill Fans/Owners

I think you might be mistaken, haha.
I'm aligned. I didn't appreciate the game, but man, did that thing draw tokens.

I went through a box of gumballs every 3 months. Someone did come in skilled, and managed to pull a bunch of prizes out, but there were plenty more to go.

It was behind (revenue wise):
DDR
Mario Carts
BBH
Air Hockey

I will be bringing my Gravity Hill to Freeplay Florida next week. I will be putting in some pretty rad prizes as I would be impressed if anyone won one :)

Mine wasn't getting the love it deserved at home. Talked my work to swapping the small empty game room with the fitness room.
Here is a picture of the start of the arcade. Already added some more games since this picture was taken. More to add in the next couple weeks also.

Just got back from freeplay Florida. According to the coin counter it got just under 3000 plays :X

Grand prize was won 5 times, all by the same person, and I have t counted the balls for small prize yet.

The hard playfield has been defeated :)

Then the hard playfield isn't too hard after all.

5 hits all by the same guy? Imagine what he'd do for a regular playfield? He could empty the machine for $30.

Yeah, this person played most of the first day and probably at around 75% of the second day, figured it out and was able to win a total of 5 out of, might be safe to say 1000's of the attempts :X

If it's 50¢ a game, it would have generated $1500. It holds around 50 prize balls, each worth around 50¢, so if they did clear out the game for $30, I would be able to replace all prizes and still have $5 left over :)

I think the one at Hollywood Candy was 75 cents a game.

Not if this guy kept emptying it... because there'd be a lot less than 3000 plays moving forward. But this guy won't have access to your machine likely going forward... so instead you trained a mercenary to go attack other ops. Still, it was pretty cool of you to put out a prize machine on freeplay. Most people (myself included) are not that generous.

Also you're not factoring in that most operators have to give a cut to the location... so this kind of play would really actually put you in the negative. It would cost you money to put out the machine and you'd have to be paying people to play and take your prizes. You mentioned the 50 prize balls, but not the minor prizes. Which are cheap but still a factor.

All of this is known though... you shouldn't operate true skill games if you don't want someone using their great skills.

Probably because it needed to be to make any money, with the location's cut and what not. Product is getting more expensive and harder to get as well.

Freeplay Florida 2019 is where we first played gravity hill. I think the hard playfield is the way to go on a route for gravity hill. Big prize balls are 50¢ and bouncy balls are $25ish for 250.

My guess for bouncy balls is there are around 175 left, so just around 75 were won :)

Lots of parents thanked me on the way out for bringing it. Gravity Hill was a game a good bit of the younger kids were playing.

Hey bumping this up, I'm reading about a hard playfield, where would I look for purchasing one? Have a few of these Gravity Hills I want to put back out on location.

I recently got a lot of parts from this place to get mine working:

I changed out the hard to an easy as that was the playfield I remember playing 20 years ago.
The gameroom it is in right now is new and hasn't quite been discovered yet. Probably will be more popular in the warmer months, but it is one of the most played games. No one has won the large prize yet on easy.

I brought Gravity Hill to SFGE2022. It got over 4000 credits added. Four grand prizes were won and maybe around 20 small prizes. Hard playfield for the win 😀

Our game room is still on easy and the grand prize was only won maybe 2 or 3 times since it was installed.

Still have the hard playfield if someone ever cleans it out.

Where did you get the hard playfield from?

Had to replace a few locks, the rope light, easy playfield... figured a one stop shop was nice.

I have not seen a hard playfield in the wild before, is why I am asking. I have only seen easy and medium, and talking to OK, it didn't seem like they made many or sold many hard playfields. I had Gumball-depot make me a hard playfield and they stated that it might be the first that they have made and it took them a while to figure out how to do it correctly :)

I actually went from hard to easy. Easy was the one I played back in the day so I wanted that one.
I bought that one from Gumball Depot.

Can you post a picture of your machine's playfield instruction sticker? I am trying to understand if you are saying that yours came with a hard playfield :)

It had the hard playfield in it when I got it. I removed that and installed a easy one.
I think that sticker is generic.

Can you take a photo of the hard playfield? Would love to verify as I haven't heard/seen one in the wild 🙂
