In case you didnt know ebay now charges a final value fee on shipping. I say we all boycott ebay in reference to arcade items. If you see something on ebay you want tell the seller you will purchase through paypal only and not ebay.
This has really gone to far!!!!

eBay went too far about 3 years ago. That ship has sailed. It is now a complete last resort after the forums, newsgroups, craigslist and word of mouth. It is to the point were I would rather give smaller, cheaper things away or even throw them away, then deal with the eBay bs.

Just mark up your item a couple bucks. No big deal.

I wouldnt sell things on eBay if people didnt buy my stuff all the time...

No somebody needs to come out with a better ebay and pay method and put Paypal and bay out of business. They are crooks anyways in my opinion. They need to have a better claims dispute for one. Either that or set some better guide lines so everybody is equal not just the buyer. And in some small instances the seller.

Just my 2 cents

Yeah - That's some bullshit, but here's some REAL bullshit from Paypal:

"From now on, money you receive will be temporarily held in a pending balance. To learn more, please read our"
When some sellers receive payments, we may hold the money in a pending balance for up to 21 days to help make sure that there are funds in the seller's account to cover potential refunds or claims. The funds may be released early if PayPal determines that the transaction has been fulfilled and customers are satisfied.

First of all Paypal - Fuck you, it's my money. This just pisses me off, I know it's just a safeguard, but I'm not a fucking scammer, give me a break. I would be less of a vagina about it if it was 5-7 days. That's more than enough time for someone to get their shit and leave feedback, or whatever triggers me getting MY money.

eBay is only a great place to buy things, now. :(

I agree, the shipping surcharge really is a pain in the ass. As it is some buyers go off the wall if you charge them anything over actual shipping (they seem to think that packaging material is free). Now you have to bump the whole thing up by another 12%. I assume its aimed at the folks who charge $1 for an item and then $40 to ship it to get aorund the final valuation fees, but it ends up hurting the honest folks (as most eBay policies do). For me the real kick in the ass was when they raised the final valuation fee maximum from $20 to $100 in less than a year. Just another thing that get passed on to the buyer in the end. However, they are essentially the only girl at the dance. My policy is, when the only girl in the dance is ugly, drink beer until she isn't.

Epay

well paypal and ebay can bet on one thing. if they hold my money, im closing the account. plain and simple. you know most of the time people dont leave feedback. so more than likely they will hold the money until they leave feedback or 21 days, wich ever comes first.i called them today and told them " you all are making it easier everyday for someone to come in and take all your customers" well , you can bet that somwehere out there someone is plotting the demise of ebay..there will be something new soon and then we will all watch ebay as it struggles for its last breath..in despiration to attract customers.all things end eventually, and it cant come soon enough for epay!!! YOU KNOW ONCE THE BUYERS KNOW THEY HOLD UP YOUR MONEY, YOU CAN BET THEY WILL!! KKEP IT UNTILL THE 20 DAY AND CLAIM A NOT DESCRIBED CASE AFTER THEY DROPPED IT DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS, OR THEIR 2 YR OLD SPILLED ITS MILK IN IT.

My wife just got an email from Ebay. On top of everything thing else that they have done now they are implementing a 21 day hold on the money when you sell something. I don't know if they are doing it for everyone or just selected accounts. She started selling on Ebay a couple of months back.

The only company with the balls to put Ebay under is Google, and if they do, they'll end up being just as bad as Ebay! The problem isnt' the specific company you're dealing with, it's the size of the company. Any corporation Ebay's size is going to handle things the way Ebay does. Sucks.

I have been selling on E-Bay since they opened up about 15 years ago. They are a company that unfortunally many business rely on to sell there product. If E-Bay ever went belly up it would ruin the economy as it would put alot of people/business out of jobs and in the cold. We (including me) help build them the monster they are now. Yes, it sucks how there attitude has changed in big favor of the buyer and less on the seller. They have set shipping price limits etc. I was told by an E-Bay rep that EBay might make free shiping mandatory soon so watch for that next. I hate what they do and yes they have made a fortune off me over the years. Then I sit back and realize how much money I have made also.. Its a monster I have learned to depend on. :( I think alot can relate to what I am saying. They need a competitor to keep them in check... Just like Netflix doubling there price for the same service. They did it because they have no real competition now. Its a shame but its called "GREED"

Shipping

The reason they will make shipping free a requirement, is so they will get more money on the final credit fee.. Thats why they promote it now.

Mandatory free shipping might be the last straw for most sellers that will cause just about everyone who isn't peddling junk or totally overpriced crap, to abandon them completely. As it is, I sell most of my stuff through Amazon.com now, and while the fees aren't any better, it's less of a hassle to deal with and I usually get higher prices than I would on eBay. eBay for me now is strictly for items I know I will make some serious bank on, and only if it isn't something I can sell through Amazon.

I give netflix a break, you can call it lack of competition, but find another provider that will offer you half the content that they do for $8 streaming. It can't be done, you should be glad you live in an era where you can stream unlimited bullshit for $8 - These movie studios and hollywood in general are the biggest group of fuckbags you will meet. Netflix has to try to cut deals with all these fucking waste of fucking oxygen bastards, and I will support Netflix without a peep, for up to $30 a month for 1 dvd at a time and unlimited streaming. You can't find a better deal - I watch more Netflix than cable, fuck the dumb shit, give me my warriors in fucking red. You can't beat them.

Ebay can do whatever the fuck it wants and everyone will adapt - there is no way around it. I'm sorry but good fucking luck, even google would have to fight tooth and nail to get that traffic on auctions.

Well this post was about E-Bay so I did not want to stray to far off the topic. I was only using Netflix as an example. I personally told Netflix to stick it where the sun does not shine. Any company that doubles there rates in one swoop will loose my business no matter what. I am not a big movie buff anyway I just had it when I was real bored and nothing was on. My point was any company that gets real big will eventually start doing the bullshit E-Bay does and now what Netflix did..

This is exactly why we need to support gamegavel.com.

I bought an eternal membership early on (the chuckwagon days). My problem is that they STILL don't have a way to save searches, and I'm not going back to type each of my searches in every freaking day. I find myself not going to the site at all because I don't want to manually step through all the relevant sections to find stuff. All they need is a way to save a bookmark for a search and I'll at least be looking a lot more, which makes it more likely that I'll buy.

Right now I only hit the thing once every couple of weeks and I'm sure I'm missing stuff, but without some kind of saved searches, I can't really find stuff.

I REALLY want to see GameGavel take off, just so I can avoid the stupid high fees on Ebay. We'll just have to wait and see how it does!

The reason for the change is because of all the sellers that were taking advantage of the system. They would sell an item for $5 and charge $50 for shipping. Make their money off the shipping and only give ebay the cut from the $5 sale.

Seems pretty simple to me an I'm not surprised ebay realised what was going on
