ATM in gameroom/man cave?

Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I have zero investment in this and think it can be a FUN project. I am thinking of putting a Raspberry Pi in it with either RetroPie or make a custom program to emulate the functions of an ATM or maybe both. Just for fun! And by the way Ken they do make great safes. I have another one that I made into a gun safe. I never had any intention to hook it to an ATM network.

Now re-purposing it in that way is a really cool idea.

I'd rather have a cabaret taking up my limited floor space.
But hey, if you have the room, novelty items such as ATM, phone booth, popcorn machine, soda machine etc can make your arcade that more unique.

haha so yer not gunna believe it.

i am now the proud daddy of my very own triton 9100 atm machine! DOH!

these things are cheap as fuck and fun to tinker around with!

picking the locks took mere minutes.. i'm trying to "hack" the group 2 combination
lock and since i have the top part opened, i can use an endoscope to "watch" the
circular gears line up... it'll be tons of practice and time before i get it open... it
sure feels like Geraldo with Al Capone's vault... only to find nothing inside, but
that's no biggie. for me - the main thrill and puzzle is to get it open! :)

Cool, welcome to the club! Have fun with it!

lol, so yeah lessons learned. the first ATM i purchased (that TRITON you see above), is
pretty much useless on the real market floor unless you upgrade it to an EMV reader and
other shit like BIOS and crap. not worth it. i don't even think you can upgrade the OS to
reset the master/operator passwords back to default. sucks. and i can't open the safe yet.

So... long story short, i purchased my SECOND ATM! hahahaha mooooo oohhohohohoh
crazy i got 2 ATM's now! new trend! haha anyways the 2nd ATM is better, more modern,
has EMV chip reader and modern OS to it. it's the infamous GENMEGA G2500. I LOVE IT!!!!

photos of my latest and 2nd ATM! :)

Here you go!

If that's a Sergeant & Greenleaf (S & G) electronic lock on the vault, you can get it open. Slip out the 9 volt battery from the holder (it drops out the bottom with a little tab). Leave the battery out for at least 30 minutes and the memory will default to the factory combination (I think it's 123456 or 111111).

Everyone's bashing on the ATM thing, but I dunno why. Would I personally have one in my gameroom? No, but that's because they didn't have ATMs in arcades when I was growing up. Who am I to judge another man's nostalgia, though? It's exactly the same as having a payphone booth in your house for nostalgic purposes; it doesn't work, but it's about the subjective decorative value. If you want a deactivated ATM in your gameroom, then go on with your bad self!

That's what I was thinking! Put a game board in it, swap the display, add a good joystick, and why not?

It's better than putting a converted 8-liner in!

just sold my genmega 2500 today, woot woot.

all i have left is that shitty triton garbage of a atm left. i guess that'll just become a safe for me.

Can't say I've ever considered an ATM machine in a home arcade over a token machine but I've absolutely joked about someone installing a decommissioned lottery machine in their basement bar/lounge/arcade and running it in some sort of training or demo mode so they could play Keno.
Not surprisingly, the feds don't seem to let those escape into the wild as much as you might expect. :p

I haven't run into either an ATM or Keno machine for sale.

That could be a result of not looking for one, since it isn't something I search for.

Keno machines are income producers which to me would need to be networked to a system to work. I'm not saying it's not possible- I just don't know.

Not an atm but look at this, it's great for the arcade!
