Somebody has disabled browsing of the root directory. Maybe it's being updated

Thread on vectorlist about it... Someone posted he had sold off all his games a couple weekends ago. Hope its not true but others are scrambling to preserve the old site from cached info.

Yes, I saw that, too. I hope not...Francis was an excellent resource. Surely if the machines had been sold off a la' Lunacity...wouldn't another collector know about it and pipe up?

And wouldn't he offer them for sale here or to some local KLOVers he knows? I actually picked up a monitor from him ~3 months ago (smoking deal, thanks again but I digress). I always ask, "Is anything for sale?" as I know the quality of his collection and nothing was as of then. I know he recently had a kid and his priority was family, but if he "got out" that would be a very shocking development. :( My money is on there is no truth to this unpleasent rumor. I hope.

I can't imagine this happened (sold off everything).

I was talking to him up to mid-May and then silence finally site went down.

I hope everything is ok.

I was in contact with him recently in the last month or so about a potential sale of a large batch of games to a fellow in london that he is friends with. Maybe his games went over there in bulk?

He didn't mention it to me but it kinda coincides with a rumour of him selling his games off.

chime in francis, inquiring minds want to know!!

I heard that he was contacted by Leonardo DiCaprio about the new Atari movie and agreed to lend the entire Ataricade inventory to the production. As the story goes, Leo would play the games often during breaks between shoots. When the arcade scenes had all wrapped and Francis began arranging to bring the games home Leo offered him a flat $1M for the entire collection. The offer was accepted and the Ataricade cleaned out. Francis took the empty game room as an opportunity to shift his focus. He immediately began buying pristine versions of Ms. Pacman, Tron, Mortal Kombat and other Midway games, and is currently designing the Midwaycade gameroom and website. But I'm not one to gossip so...

The last couple of times I tried to visit his site, specifically the Quantum registry page, my security suite freaked out about the page having malicious content embedded in it. If I had to guess I'd say the site has been taken offline by his provider until it gets cleaned up. His site hosting provider probably had one or more servers compromised.
