Atari Vindicators......Any Good?

It's available for last gen consoles on the Midway Arcade treasures Vol. 1. I have it for the Xbox, and I enjoyed playing it. The cabinet is pretty cool too. I've read a few threads around here, and it doesn't seem to get much love, but I suggest you try it out either on MAME or the Arcade Treasures compilation. You might like it.

I like it as well. I am looking to move mine because I'm out of room, but I'd keep it if I could. Cool art, cool cab.

It IS heavy. But nylon levelers make it much easier to move around on concrete. The switches for the turret rotation buttons are usually worn out. I managed to retro fit some small switches from some japanese style buttons. I also found a source for what looks like directly compatible replacement switches for the originals, but I haven't tried a test fit yet.

Yea, I use Nylon Levelers for my other games. I put those sliders things on the bottom of those and makes the games easy to move around. I'm just wondering about hauling something like that though. Looks like it could be a pain to move one or load up into a truck if they are really heavy.

I have had no problems moving them by myself. Generally on their backs. The back base of the Vindicators is not flat so that has to be lifted up over the tail gate. It is an odd shaped cabinet and a bit heavy.

Never played this game. Was wondering if its any good?

I have one. I like the game. The only real problem you will have with it are the trigger and turrent buttons. You need all 4 working and they tend to be bad. There is a thread on finding replacement s here..

As for the games value, not very desirable. So if you buy it, you will probably own it for a while.. Its probably worth $250-$500.

Also if you look into it, there is vindicators 2. That was a drop in kit for gauntlet(runs on gauntlet pcb and has an ESB slapstick on its security board). Same game, but it only has 10 levels and the dedicated has 14. KLOV says changes were made to the weapons, but I don't rememeber any difference.

Yep, that's mine. Haven't had any issues with the turret buttons as described, and everything works fine on mine. I like the game - and will likely get one again someday - but space is a premium and I recently picked up a Time Warp pinball machine so something has to go. That's how I justified buying the pinball machine to the wife, anyway. :]

Nice clean one(better than mine).. $200 is a great price for it.. Good luck!

I liked it a lot back in the day.

Having said that, I think it's a much better game for 2 players competing against each other than it is as a 1-player game.
