Hi guys!

I am trying to get my Atari Video Pinball monitor all adjusted correctly before ZapCon next week. I've got it dialed in pretty well, but I feel like some of the locations of items on the screen are slightly off. I've recapped the monitor as well as replaced the vertical adjustment and linearity pots. I'm almost happy with the setup, but I wish I could get it just right. Are there any tips you guys have to get it adjusted just right? Mine tends to stray a bit to the left, but I can't seem to get everything moved over to the right just perfectly. Since it's a vertical orientation, I've been tweaking the vertical pots. I did use the width coil to get the horizontal dialed in.

Thanks, friends!

Move around the 2 image position tabs on the neck. They resemble convergence tabs like on a color monitor.

good day.

Which monitor do you have?
I've got a Motorola and a Wells Gardner and the manuals show all of the adjustment knobs very well.
I had the same problem and after reviewing the manual I dialed it in quite easily.

There's no trying here, you will do and succeed. On B&W monitors any adjustments on the chassis only handles geometry and size, the position rings on the neck will move image up, down, left and right. Once position is centered you might have to tweak height and width again.

Visual reference added. Once you start moving one or the other you'll figure it out.

There is also physical adjustments to the entire monitor position iirc

I was trying to align mine when i got it, and realized the 5 drop targets in the center of the screen don't line up with the trapezoid above it, the left-most target overhangs the edge by about half... Same as a mame screenshot and the flyer if i remember right... So i focused on getting the outlanes and shoot lane lined up

Good luck, awesome game

Yeah, I saw a post of yours about those drop targets. For me, it's just getting the flippers in the right spots. Once I do that, it'll be golden.

Oh my God, Chopper, get your ass on an aeroplane next weekend and fly down here to ZapCon. I want you to see in person just how beautifully dialed in this bad boy is! Thanks so much for the tip, it was exactly what was needed. The flippers are in the perfect spot now.

The ZapCon weekend pass and beverage of your choice is on me! If you need a room, let me know, I know a guy looking to share one. You just need to let him know if you want to be the Spooner or the Spoonee.

Awesome, glad you got it. That was something that eluded me with extra bases for some time, I asked a bunch of smart people and did many google searches only to get bad answers. I remember touching one of the tabs and seeing the image move, oh fuck yeah! Got my extra bases image lined up with back drop perfectly.

Should also be known that B&W vectors have the same adjustments. Haven't seen a battlezone yet that was properly adjusted :( . The video pinball at MGC was also off center a tick and I chuckled.

One day we'll clink some beers, too short of notice. Snap a pic of your game all lined up properly.

good day.
