Atari Vectors (Battlezone, Tempest) in LA

Hey, would anyone be interested in the LA Area be interested in splitting a lot of Atari vector games and parts?

Here's the auction.

The things I want from the auction are Gravitar and Space Duel, and there's also a Battlezone and Tempest as part of the deal. I need to call the guy and discuss the details of condition and stuff.

I think we could probably get it for less than the $1950 buy it now, especially if we went down to take a look and had $1500 or so cash in hand. I'd either be willing to do an even split where each of us pays half and gets 2 games and half of the extra monitors and parts, or if you'd prefer to get all of the parts or none of the parts (i.e. if you just want the two games), we could work out some fair arrangement.

Let me know if you're interested. I'm not going to plunk down that much for a lot of stuff with how poorly games are selling right now, but if someone's got a hankering for a $300 Battlezone or a $400 Tempest or something like that (or both), then maybe we can get together and do the deal.

Also let me know if you're looking for a vector monitor in the LA Area - there are 3 spare monitors in the deal as well. Maybe you could join in the deal just to get a vector monitor for a hundred bucks or something like that.

pm me.

Just talked to the guy on the phone, and here were his descriptions of condition - Battlezone is collector quality and fully functional. Tempest has no back door, a small chunk missing (I think he said one of the bottom corners), monitor dim on startup and fine once it warms up, and game is fully playable.

As I mentioned, there are 3 spare vector monitors and one CGA monitor, plus he said he has a couple of backup boards for each game (which you could either keep as spares for the game or sell off to reduce the cost of the total deal).

Let me know if you're interested in any or all of this.

I'd like in on it. I am in portland oregon though so its a long streth for me. I'm looking for a nice battlezone and a space duel, the extra parts wouldn't be bad either...

And now my understanding is that he won't take less than $1800 for the whole lot.

And the Battlezone that he described as "collector quality" has a chunk of missing side art, several lock-bar holes drilled in it, and a bunch of other flaws. And by his description, that's the only game in good condition.

At $1,200 it was a good deal. At $1,800 it's not a particularly good deal, unless he does some restoring and repairing before the sale. He'll probably have to break it up and sell off everything separately to get close to that much.
