My Marble Maddness had a bad F3 ( 250 AMP 32V ). A previous owner had replaced the fuse holder with an auto fuse holder. I decided to change the whole brick since I didn't have the appropriate replacement holder. Had 2 on shelf. The first one had the same issue. The second one was slightly different. All fuses were labeled the same, except the F3 which was labeled 20 AMPS 32V. This holder was in good shape, never replaced. Worked fine in the game, and have had no problems. I know that this is a common failure. Was wondering if Atari had made a change to the AMPs because of this, and is there anything we could do ? Also wondering the compadibility issues in switching to lower AMPs.

Yes, I remember Atari sending out a service bulletin about the 20 amp fuse needing to be replaced by a 25 amp one. I think a back issue of Star Tech Journal also published the bulletin.

Sadly, upping the amperage won't solve the problem......with time, all Atari games will destroy the fuse holder.
