Atari Trackball List

^Hard Drivin' as well. I also want to say I've seen the cones on a Arkanoid, but that could have been a cabinet that was swapped.

Missile Command UR
- 4" trackball black
- 2 x tall black cones for player up
- 3 x short black cones for fire buttons

Is this right? From another thread regarding Missile Command:

Short cones for all 5 buttons. Player buttons light up, base buttons do not.

Does anyone know for sure which is correct?

I'm not sure it is correct as mine is listed, short for fire buttons, long for player one and two ups. But I always thought this was correct, due to the buttons being in the same area and for differentiation purposes. Not that you'd actually get them confused for long.

All my other Atari games have short cones for the player ups so it could be either way. See pics for mine.

Interesting. My Missile Command currently has short black plastic cones for the player start buttons. I don't know if they are original or not. It has short silver aluminum cones for the fire buttons, but I assume those aren't original (unless it is possible for the black anodizing to have worn off completely).

Pretty sure all the originals are metal and black whether tall or short. I know some of the replacements out there were plastic.

Is it possible Atari mixed the tall/short, black/metalic buttons depending upon their supply at the time for any given run of games, like Missile Command?

I'll contribute...

Missile Command cabaret: Three short black non-lit buttons, two short black lit for P1 & P2

Mine has the same set up. I'm reasonably sure it's correct. I had a couple of games on an Archer McLean restored MC a few months ago and that too had tall for P1 / P2 start, but short for fire.
