Anyone have a kit (or cab) for Atari Kiosks? I would like to trade my Tank kit.

Thanks!

WTF is that! It still never ceases to amaze me that I keep seeing a new game almost every couple of days. Even after almost 5 years of being in this hobby.

For anyone interested, I just found a scan of the manual for this thing at http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/AR...[Operation & Maint. Supplement] [English].pdf

It's kind of thin for a manual, but it appears to be complete - there's no schematics or anything, but there is a drawing and good descriptions of how to get into it.

I have to say I'm kind of impressed. You could get it in 2, 3, or 6 game cabinets. It's a very early example of the same concept that Nintendo used in the Vs. Dual system and Red-Tent cabs - each segment has it's own game, you can swap out the games more or less at will.

It's from 1973 and it's all B&W, but it's a pretty cool system.

How do you find the gameplay?

updated pics. need a bit more work, but functional nonetheless. looking for additional kits and or cabs. :)

Nice photo, it has that film-processed look like the Atari/Kee 70s sales flyers. Now you just need two more cabs to complete the set!

Yeah, I thought the same regarding the filters.

Like mhkohne said earlier, Atari Theater Kiosk cabinets were sold in sets of 2, 3, and 6. Seven game choices: Trak-10, Pong Doubles, Tank, Space Race, Jet Fighter, Stunt Cycle, and Quiz Show. In terms of completing the set, four additional cabs would maximize it. A complete set is more than I have room for, but I'd like to find one more.

If anyone even has a lead on one, let me know. If your lead results in completed deal, I'll pay a finders fee. Rather than PM, email me [email protected]

Thanks

This is super cool. I have never heard nor seen one of these. What kind of hardware do these run on? What does the hardware look like? Is each board a dedicated board or does it use a cartridge system? Sorry for the 20 questions but I can't seem to find info on this anywhere.

Mike Pacak had some a while back, or parts at least.

As far as I know, they were basically complete games, just housed in these convertible style cabinets. I have the sales flyer for the thing somewhere if it is not on arcadeflyers, it is a large fold out flyer explaining how you can put this in malls, movie theaters, and you don't need individual cabinets and they have a "high class" look.

I spoke with Pacak years back. He claimed he operated kiosks, but they were trashed due to size. Yes, they're basically compete games housed in a trapezoid shaped cabinet. Since each game has a different set of controls and wiring harness, the cabinets do not seem to have been built for operator conversion. And as Ed says they were marketed to big locations like museums, malls, airports, movie theaters, etc.
